Do you mean your gums are receding? If so that is from brushing to hard. The only way to fix that is to have a graft done on your gums. Use a soft tooth brush and do not brush back and forth. However if you mean your teeth are getting shorter. then you are probably grinding your teeth. A mouth guard will help with that. But to get length back on your teeth is MAJOR work

Really no way for us knowing what needs to be done without seeing x-rays or the actual teeth. You may just need a deep cleaning to rid of tarter build-up that is causing the gums to recede to maybe needing the teeth take out because there is no longer any bone support (are the teeth wiggly at all?). Only a dental professional can really answer that question for you. Go ahead and make an appointment tomorrow!!

My gums have receeded from brushing too hard. Best to go to the doctor. It could be gum disease causing the recession or your are brushing too hard. Use a soft bristle brush. Your gums may not come back like before but this can help from receeding further and come back very very very slightly. Ask your doc on how to brush. I did and found out I was beating up my gums. My doc placed fillings on the receeded areas. Depending on how much they've receeded, you can do a gum graft. They take tissue from the roof of your mouth and place it on the receeded area. I am doing this later this year. If it is gum disease, you'll have a deep cleaning. But best to talk to your doc to discuss all your options. Good luck!

HELLO,
IT'S BEST TO HAVE THAT DENTAL APPOINTMENT AND HAVE THE CHOICES FOR THE RECEDING GUMS, BUT YOU MUST ALWAYS BRUSH GENTLY WITH A SOFT BRUSH.

Give the dentist a try. ;) I hate going to the dentist, so I can't blame you for skipping out on it.
