someone said to eat a banana before you run, you should eat a banana but it should be several hours before your run, bananas take a very long time to digest and will give you stomach cramps if eaten too soon before a workout, ironicly enough they are meant to stop cramps but only if it is digested. If you run in the morning, eat the banana after dinner.
You may have just tweaked your leg the slightest bit and it caused it to fall asleep, you're probably just fine!

Do you mean that you had no feeling in the entire leg, or that you had no feeling and could not move any part of the leg?
It would not make anatomic sense if the entire leg, front & back, from the hip down, went to sleep. If it really went to sleep, you would not be able to stand on it, and you would fall if you tried to bear weight on it.
Answering this question will require that you supply a great deal more information.

You may think you did nothing but the impact of running may have jolted a nerve in your lower back if even just for a second. I doubt It is anything to really worry about. Hell stuff like that happens to me all the time and i am a doctor, and hypochondriac.

I could not find anything on a leg falling asleep, but everything I researched said that if numbness (which is as close to falling asleep as I could get) indicated a stroke and you need immediate help.

It happens, it's normal. Did you stretch before jogging? Make sure to stretch. And it could be your shoes or the way you jog. Make sure blood is getting to every part of your body.

If your leg fell asleep while you were jogging, something is definitely wrong. If it were me, I would go to the doctor right away. I would suspect something was wrong with my circulatory system or that maybe the diabetes that runs in my family were taking hold.
Call your doctor tomorrow.

That happened to me as well, I kept going hoping it would stop, the I just had to sit down, the only thing different then, was the shoes I was wearing, had been wearing really old, flat shoes, after I changed them, it stopped

poor circulation, it happens sometimes. Do not worry unless it happens frequently. If it does, go see a doctor. It could be bad shoes, it could be diabetes. If it is a one time thing, you most likely just didn't strecth out well enough on that particular day.

Sounds like a circulation problem. It may be a one off occurance or may be something more sinister. Get it checked out at the Doc's.
