If your name was say...Snoop..and you were say, African American! And I was finding every article I could, to cut and Paste onto Y/A showing every African American male who committed a violent crime and then stated that because of this, my opinion was that all African Americans were criminals! Would I not be a racist! And would I not be stereotyping an entire race based on a miniscule bit of information?

I know I should not even respond to this moron but maybe, just maybe he might get a clue that most police officers are good as well and only a handfull are corrupt!

People that aren't open minded are like talking to brick walls. No matter what you tell him he won't listen to you. Not all cops are bad. Infact, I adore cops and honor their positions. To deal with people like this guy everyday, I would lose my patiece. That's why I say cops are God's Angels.

Yes it would be racist and an unfortunate generalization. Sadly, this theory that all African Americans are black is reinforced by racial profiling, which although it is less common, is still in popular practice today.
The facts are not all there in this cut and paste collection, so it is definitely unfair to all African Americans. Obviously not all African Americans are criminals, not even 50% of all African Americans are criminals.
As for responding, it is probably pointless, but you could be the one to enlighten whoever the ignorant man is you speak of. You would just have to watch your approach.
And I know a number of great police officers, and none of them have given me any reason to believe them corrupt....well one, but he was old, grumpy, and was having a bad day, not corrupt.

Your right their is too much generalization that shows intolerance... The sad fact is that the more mixed our country become the lesser the self identity, the higher the crime rate too... So now with the melting pot in the US its gonna explode pretty soon, as the white that used to form the majority will feel in danger of losing their cultural identity and begin to target every others not the same color...
So better be prepared and face this fact sooner than later. The social fabric that compose the US culture is polarizing and it is becoming unstable now. Few will notice as the war in Irak and the gas price make the headlines, but not for long...

I agree with you 100%, but I don't think that this will change his mind one little bit. Small minds have only small spaces to work with. His itty bitty little space is filled with hatred and defiance for authority.

You can also be sure that he will not respond to your post.

Enable your email in your profile, you'll find you will meet quite a great police community right here.

Yes, in that hypothetical situation you would be a racist. Yes, you would be guilty of stereotyping. Particularly if you tried to thinly disguise your hatred and bigotry as a question such as:
"Why did these African-American men kill these people? Are they above the law?"

Snoop Dogg denies arrest
Snoop Dogg has denied he was arrested for drug possession in Sweden on Sunday night (11.03.07).

The rapper, who was stopped by police on his way to a party in Stockholm, claims he was only questioned by police before being released without charge.

Snoop's representative said: "Contrary to erroneous press reports, Snoop Dogg was not arrested in Sweden.

"He was questioned and released with no charges filed. He is excited to continue his successful co-headlining European tour with P Diddy."

The 35-year-old rapper was reportedly deemed to be "under the influence of narcotics".

Duty sergeant Matt Brannlund said: "He was arrested for use of narcotics. It's illegal in Sweden to use them, even to have it in your system. Police suspected he had taken drugs."

Snoop allegedly underwent a series of tests and the results are due in two to three weeks.

If the tests confirm there were drugs in his system, he could face a means-tested fine.

A small amount of narcotics were found in the car, but police didn't specify which type of drug and said it was unclear if they belonged to Snoop.

I think that if he were capable of reasoning out your hypotheitical question (or reasoning anything at all), he probably wouldn't have such a problem with authority.

I don't think he can see past the nose on his face, if that far.
