I think to a degree it would be a natural cycle, but we as humans are speeding up that cycle.

Yes I do believe that global warming is a part of the natural cycle of Earth. However, I know that the over usage of fossil fuels, increasing emittance of greenhouse gases and things of that nature are speeding the process along. Faster than it should be going. I do not think that global warming is a load of political crap as many people like to state but politicians are using it as a springboard for elections. I don't think most elected officials really care much about it anyway.

Maybe, but I recently heard on a science/tech show up here that we're supposed to be heading into an ice age, so we're supposed to be cooling off, not warming up.

Even if it's natural, seems like it's happening too fast. The earth moves through it's processes fairly slowly, not in a flash.

But we shall see. In the meantime I'm doing my part, and I like the idea of saving money, and having clean air to breathe instead of smoggy air. I'm more worried about my local environment and saving money then I am the environment, it comes second in my worries.

The glaciers melted millions of years ago (long before the air pollution from the industrial age) and created the Great Lakes and the rivers. Hmmm.. I think it's just a natural cycling. The deserts used to be fertile ground too, now they're just dust and sand.

Of course it's possible. No one knows exactly to what extent humans have contributed to global warming and to what extent natural cycling is responsible. Both sides have studies and arguments that sound right. Wouldn't it make sense to assume that both come into play?

But even if natural cycling is largely or mostly responsible, why wouldn't we want to do everything we can to protect the environment like lowering emissions of greenhouse gases. There are plenty of proven dangers to air pollution. Shouldn't we want to clean it up? We have been given this earth as a responsibility to hand on to future generations. Wouldn't we want to pass it on as clean as possible?

Much of the debate on this subject is politically motivated. For the politicians, it's often about power and control. Let's get beyond that and do what is right for the environment.

Although global warming is part of the natural cycle, what we are currently experiencing is accelerated warming. This is caused by a build up of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Carbon based fuels are a huge contributor. Think of it this way, plants and animals die and as they decompose, carbon is released. Over millions of years that co2 becomes coal or oil, buried harmlessly in the ground. But when we burn it (thousands of years of decomposition burned in a relatively short period of time) the co2 is released into the atmosphere and there just aren't enough trees to handle it this time around. It just hangs around creating a cozy co2 blanket that warms the earth.

Global warming is a part of natural cycle but its accelaration due to human intervention is NOT. The rate at which the artic ice cap is melting, emerging of mosquito borne diseases at higher altitudes, the defrosting of the 'perma frost' layer are all proofs of global warming which our ancestors have not seen and we would witness them because of the amount of green house gases this era or age is generating.

There certainly are warming and cooling cycles, that much isn't in dispute. The issue is that we've managed to accelerate the process through carbon emissions. The political agenda angle gets overplayed on talk radio- scientists really don't care much about that nonsense, they just follow the facts.

Not only is it possible, it's probably true. Don't believe the political garbage. Any educated scientist who isn't strongly opinionated politically will tell you its only purpose is political gain for the democrats.

Ask yourself: How did the Ice Age come to an end? Where are the glaciers that formed the: 1. Great Lakes 2. Grand Canyon 3. Countless hills, valleys, and mountains across this country and the world? THEY ARE GONE. How did they disappear? The Earth got warmer, and they melted. But this was way before the time of SUVs and big houses. I think this is enough proof for anyone to believe that it's a cycle.

Yes, that's exactly what it is. This planet was once mostly covered with ice, and it has gradually been warming ever since. The effect on the environment by man is minimal at best...the liberals just use that as a platform to scare voters into voting for them.
