Awesome, another Trickle fan. Although never winning at the cup level, Dick Trickle was a great driver that never had great equipment at the cup level. If I'm not mistaking, he does have a couple of wins in the Busch series. And although he never won in cup, it shouldnt take away from his accomplisments outside the cup level. Lets take Ken Schrader for example, not a great cup driver (but he does have cup wins), but man, you put him on dirt, you better watch out.
By the way, FORCE, great post!! Awesome info.

There's nowhere that has specific data the Trickle won 1200 races...
He never won a Nextel/Winston points race. The only race he won at the top level was the Winston Open in 1989.
He won 2 Busch races in 89, and 1 ARCA race in 91.
He started racing in 1958. The Wisconsin records (his home state) show 184 wins between 1958 and 1971 before he went on to the major touring series. So between 1971 and 1991 he would have had to win 1011 races or 51 races per season.
His documented wins in the major touring series are:
32 ASA wins
68 ARTGO Challenge Series wins
6 AllPro wins
2 Southwest Tour wins
2 USAC wins
So somewhere in those twenty years there will have to be 901 additional wins. Unlikely.
The original statement about Trickle's 1000 wins came in a 1974 program article where a friend/crewman said, "I bet Dick has won a thousand races so far." It was not based in fact in any way, shape or form. By 1997, when Dick was running NASCAR WC full-time some writer in Winston Cup Scene arbitrarily took it upon himself to raise the number to 1,200.

Jr would, with a close 2nd by Lake Speed. But he was 24 laps down. Dick Trickle gave a strong run, but lost an engine 3 laps in.

There is no confirmed documentation of that many wins. While it may be possible, racing several times a week at small, local, dirt tracks. It would be hard to prove.
In major racing divisions, Steve Kinser passed 700 "Feature" wins in World of Outlaws last year.

You forget. Petty's 200 wins are only counting NASCAR cup races. there were also, dirt track, convertible division, late model, limited sportsman and, even a few NHRA drag racing wins.
But, I did like Trickle.

Im reading on Wikipedia, and it says about him winning 1,200 features, so maybe (an idea that popped in my head), is that maybe main even races, its far less than 1,200, but if you include heat races and what not, which is very common in your dirt track racing series and whatnot, that could sound very plausible.
But 1,200 main races, I dont know about that exactly
