Our dance is called "tolo", where the girls are suppossed to ask the guys.

Don't try to be creative in asking a guy to dance. Just be direct. Just ask him. Make it simple and understandable.
Furthernore, I think you should insist that he dance not just one dance with you but a whole set (at least 4 songs) with you.

Take him out to lunch and proceed to have a normal lunch. Then pretend you got a text message from a friend of yours (say "oh it's kylie!" or whoever so he really thinks it's just a normal text) and pretend to answer it. He'll think you're just texting a friend but really you'll be sending him a text that says "Will you be my date for the dance?" when he gets the message and see's it's from you he'll see what happened and maybe send one back to you or just answer you at the table. I've done this before. It's simple and cute! He'll love it.

take out an ad in the paper, provided he reads it. tie a note to a rock and hurl it through his bedroom window. Spray paint will you dance with me on the side of his house.
