I have a question pertaining to religion, you see my sister has become extremly religious lately and she has been trying to get me to read the bible and stuff when she talks to me on the phone she begins to rant & rave almost to where she is preaching but in a very scary way.
I guess my question is is it bad to question GOD? Such as how it relates to science, evolution, and other things such as extra terestrial life other life forms on other planets etc.
Is it wrong to think that the religion we have today is so confusing because there are way too many different types?
Budism
Jahova
Catholic
Christian
as so on etc.
You see my family is a mixture many different ethnicities and we have within our family many different religions and growing up it was extremely confusing because each family Aunts, Uncle etc. did and practiced differently.
I personally feel that the way it is presummed to be of how Jesus & GOD came about may be wrong. I honestly feel NOONE

has an real idea of what actually happened because we have so many peaces of the puzzle missing.
Take for instance the Pyramids & how precise they were put together & the time when they were built.
Science, Evolution, & the actual fossils that were and are still being found. Things do not make sense to me.
What about the suggestion that we are not alone and the vast galaxy that is out there that we have no idea about.
Oh yeah, & things like, ghosts, phenomina, mystic creatures, UFO's, or the burmuda triangle were it is documented that several huge air planes, boats, etc. went missing & are no where to be found, USO's etc.
You see I have a theory that YES there is GOD but GOD created EVERYTHING and that the bible has some good points to it but somethings are so contradicting that it scares me when I try to read it.
Am I alone on feeling this way.. Please do not think I am EVIL or anything like that I am such the opposite I just want truth.

Nika: Allow me, as a Christian, to explain to you answers to your questions. Firstly; it is NOT wrong to "question God" ! God does not want a bunch of brainless moron robots just blindly, following along because "someone says to" ! The Holy Bible is full of people, who not only questioned God, but tried to run away - like Jonah, for one. When I was being drawn or "called" into the Christian life, I was a devout Atheist. I researched the God concept thoroughly, prior to allowing Jesus Christ to have a relationship with me. I studied cosomotology, physics, bio-science and evolution. Those things ultimately, pointed, by evidence, to a Devine, Master Engineer - God ! To answer your second question, regarding the "too many different types" of religion. You are correct in your surmizing of this. I asked this question too. The answer is simply (you conclude this from the Christian experience) that what sets Christianity apart from the hundreds of "religions" on our planet is this - God's grace ! No other religion teaches this ! Be of comfort though. It is God that does the drawing to Him self and not people (read about it in the Book of John, chapter 6, verse 44). This is solely, God's call - not any human beings. It requires quite a bit of faith, to let go and let God. Your sister, being a recent convert to the conversion process, has some very misguided zeal. If God wants YOU for Him to begin a relationship with you, He is quite capable of doing so - without her help. Peace to you and good will, Nika. P.S. Nika: If you want a reference book for answering some of your questions regarding Science re: evolution etc. purchase some by Lee Strobel. His books are very easy reading, dealing with Scientists, who he interviews and give very objective offerings on these topics. As far as, Evolution goes, see the web site from the Center for Science and Culture www.dissentfromdarwin.org for a real shock.

The Pharisees have been non secular human beings and Jesus suggested of them, "till your righteousness exceed the righteousness of the Pharisees, you shall in no smart enter into the dominion of God." What you experience is the conviction of the Holy Ghost on your existence. he's making an attempt to get you to be sure that each and every physique you go with for salvation is Jesus. The bible says in Acts 4:12, "neither is there salvation in the different: for there is none different call under heaven given between adult adult males, wherein we could desire to be saved." The Pope is the chief of a denomination of religious order, he's not the savior. i are conscious of it truly is sacrilegious to catholics, however the bible is undeniable. The church is predicated on the "rock" (stone) that the builders rejected. it truly is Jesus. he's the cornerstone (rock) that the apostles geared up the inspiration of the church on and something of the church (the Gentile believers) is provided upon this foundation. i'm hoping I easily have not indignant you, yet in component of actuality extra considerable than every person's emotions. Edit: And if the Pope, with all due understand, is the only one that can communicate to God and interpret the scriptures, why did Jesus say that the plan of salvation became so common that "even a baby choose no longer err therein"?

I think alot of us are scared when we start to read the Bible, because we don't really know where or how to begin. You could start at the beginning, but most people don't. that's not what brings them to the Word. I can understand your frustration, and fear, and it's normal to feel that way. I would suggest that you think about some of the more pressing issues that you seem to be questioning, and seek advise from a clergy member. Also, when we read the Bible, the Lord tells us to pray, and ask for understanding when reading His word. Ask God to reveal His message to you through His written word.

Science and evolution is just another religion.
I was raised on PLUTO being a planet, now it isn't. So much for science!
Science taught EVERY KID WRONG from 1940 to 2006.
Which evolution do you beleive in. The one that says you came from Chimps? Look at yourself in the mirror, are you a chimp!
Do you see any resembelence between you and a chimp.
Is that what you think your ancestors were?
Why is their a branch of science that disputes this.
One branch of science says Neaderthal and Sapiens coexited and mated (the Clan of the Cave Bear concept)
One branch of science says Neaderthal went extinct before Sapiens came along.
Which do you believe in.
See, it's a religion.
Like Catholics and Methodists
AND you HAVE to champion the CAUSE to be in the religion!
That means you have to DISPUTE the scienctists who say otherwise and call them FRAUDS and FAKES and PHONIES who will rot in hell for their ficitious beleifs.
Look, its very simple. Just read about Jesus in the Bible and make up your own mind.
Religion is a man made thing.
Belief is a YOU made thing
Jesus stopped people from stoning a girl accused of having casual sex.
Jesus used his hands to restore life (hear of CPR, something barley 50 years old, he was doing that or something like it 2,000 years ago).
Jesus went into the Leper colonies and tended to people, healed them.
Read about Jesus and make up your own mind
Religion is a group of people telling you how to accept God and Jesus
A belief system is YOU telling YOU how to accept whatever
If you're going to Favor Evolution and Science, then you better READ about that too and read it from various sources and make up your mind WHAT in THAT religion you are going to accept or not accept

If you don't question something how could you come to the answer?
The Bermuda triangle is complete and utter bunk. You can take any triangular piece of land and find hundreds of "odd" occurences in history books, naval logs, and newspapers to this day. In fact there was a special that did just that creating the London Triangle or something in England and they were able to find hundreds of odd occurences up to 1983 as the last one that happened in that area.
Oh and your avatar is hot.

Ah, a good question that will be answered different ways.
No, it is fine to question religion/god. It is where you will find the truth, however many christians etc will try to disuade you from doing so promising you an eternity in hell or repreive in heaven if you don't.

Without questions, how can you discover the truth. You should find out for yourself. No amount of preaching will be able to sway you to one religion on another. You must make that choice for yourself. If you believe that there is no God, then that is your choice and no one should be berating you for it.

If it is bugging you and you want to get to the bottom of it go seeking. Listen to others opinions, read books, attend lectures and different places of worship and ask God to revel God-self to you and the answers will come.

Whoa! Slow down. First, say, "God, if you exist, please reveal yourself to me." Then, say, "Holy Spirit, please give me wisdom to know God." Then, read the Bible, starting with the New Testament. Then, go back to Genesis and read the rest, looking for the prophesies concerning Christ. By then, you will know, and be on the right track. Or, not. But, you will have given it a real try. God bless, and I pray you find your way, whatever you decide. (I have confidence you will find Christ). :-)
