A six volt battery will make your fan run, but only at half the power. The best thing to do, if you want to run the fan at full power is to get another six volt battery and put them in series.

It probably will just be slow. I not sure if it will, in time, burn out the fan.
If, you have 2 batteries you can connect them in "SERIES" (not parallel) for 12 Volts. That is Negative to Positive, one wire. Then the fan connect to Negative of one Battery and the Positive of the other, but, not where the one wire is.

You will need to use two 6V batteries in SERIES (connect the - of one battery to the + of the other battery then the + of the first battery and the - of the second battery are connected to the fan) to make the fan run properly. Don't connect the fan to anything less than 12V or it will degrade performance, don't connect it to anything more than 12V or it will fry the fan. Make sure the wire you use to connect the two batteries has adequate resistance (don't use a very thin wire) or it will burn out.

No,power needs to be within 20 percent more or less to power up an object and your difference is 50 percent. You need at least 10 volts.

No. The fans will run at slow speed - AND you need to connect them in SERIES, not parallel to get 12 volts.

It will start but won't acheive too much speed. Buy two bateries and connect them in paralel, and you have 12V.
