Resolved, illegal immigration is a legal, moral, economic, and evironmental threat to America; the fence along the Mexican border should be finished and all illegals deported.

Do you agree or disagree?

Why?

(...just curious)

I agree they should be deported, and that we need to secure the border, but I don't want to screw up the herds of animals migrating back and forth across the border... so no fence.

I agree that illegal immigration is bad. I agree that the wall should be built. However, I reject the idea that ALL illegals should be deported. Why? Because America as a nation just can't afford to do so. Not only would the economy go over a huge bump, but also the mass deportation would only cause a outrageously humongous wave of illegal immigration that no wall or no technology will ever stop. Mass deportation is national suicide. In this case it's not about choosing between right and wrong, it's between bad or worse.

I agree. They should all be sent back. The loophole that is allowing "anchor babies" should be closed to prevent people coming here for that reason. Employers who knowingly hire illegals should be prosecuted to prevent the illegals coming here for that reason. If they want to immigrate they should do so legally...if they don't they are showing no respect for the laws of this country or the citizens and legal residents. If they want to live here they should be held to the same standards as the rest of us. They think living here illegally is worth risking their lives, families and everything else it seems, but not worth actually putting in the time or effort to do it legally. Part of the immigration process is background checks and this is for protection of the citizens and legal residents of this country as well as national security...when people bypass these safety measures we do not know who is here or why for that matter. The immigration process is time consuming but if someone wants to live in this country it is more than worth it.

I agree.
Only, don't deport them. It costs too much.
I like the lessons of history.
The Eisenhower administration instituted a policy that resulted in the LOWEST incidence of illegal immigration in the history of the U.S. He put a few of the people who were hiring the illegals in jail. It stopped. The jobs dried up and they found their own way home.

deport all of them at their own expense and make them pay tribute to the citizens of the US, no fence needed but a 1k zone should be in place and manned guard towers...
