Great question! For centuries, Protestants have accused us Catholics of adding books to the Old Testament....yet they 100% agree that we Catholics got it right in determining which books would be accepted into the New Testament! Why is it that they can take our word for it on the NEW -- since they also accept the SAME 27 books -- and yet call us wrong with the OT? Could it be that the Church was/is right about those 7 "questionable" books of the OT?

27 in the catholic canon. Decided by pope Siricius at the council of Carthage A.D. 397/8. Earlier canons (Eusebius, Muritorian Fragment, Origen) included spurious books...Shepherd of Hermas etc. or excluded genuine...gospel of Matthew etc. The church defined and confirmed which were inspired of God, consistent, and most testified as probably genuine.
