Because i just had a geek sqaud member to come and clean my computer of virus an i told him why so many all he said was LIMEWIRE !!

Idiot geek squad. Limewire is known to help spread viruses but they are obvious to downloaders. The files should be easily recognized by users.
I suggest Morpheus (www.morpheus.com) It is a similar program that uses more secure soft ware. However if your looking for music, then I suggest soul seek.
But truly the king of downloads is BitTorrents.(www.bitlord.com) Risky downloads. But very fast, and torrent tracker sites have every type of program, file, song, game, imaginable.
Install a small firewall or anti-virus scanner on your computer. Such as free.grisoft.com

Certainly not. Im using utorrent for almost 3years now.. Till now no virus problem for me.. Before downloading just check the ratings of the file.. Also check the seeds and peers.. If both are good, it means that the file is good and lots of people have already downloaded it.. The user ratings will also give us a clue whether the file is good or bad.. For being safe use a good anti virus too while downloading.. I use bitdeffender 2010..

If you share music, you will catch virus no matter who you use, its part of life, this is a risk for anyone sharing between a large community, you always get some bad guys.
