Nuts are very high in fat. Sure, it's the "good fat," but it could still cause weight gain if you eat too much. A serving of cashews is 1 oz (not much in terms of quantity) and contains 160 calories and 13 grams of fat. As with just about any other food, they're fine in moderation or in small amounts.

Side note - I once sat next to a woman on a plane from Dallas to Los Angeles. During the flight, she ate an entire bag of walnuts - like, the size of the bags you put your produce in at the grocery store. She kept saying how good walnuts were for you, and I'm thinking, sure, but not the WHOLE BAG. Yikes.

Too much will.

They are extremely high in fat and are very calorie dense.

The caloric density is a major factor that determines how fattening a particular food is.

only if you eat a ton of them. otherwise they can be a healthy source of protein. just eat them in small amounts, and try to get the unsalted ones. a great idea is to mix them with other foods, such as raisins and other dried fruit, or popcorn, or whole grain cereal. yum!

If they are salted, it's not good for you. Eating the unsalted ones are okay, just not all of the time.
