i have a 2005 gt compe and my crank keeps on getting loose from the sprocket. i had tighten it so many times already and as tight as i could so what could be the problem?

I believe that the GT uses square cranks. These can wear quite quickly if your bolts work lose. Also, you might have worn one of your crank arms. Firstly, forget what the torque ratings say for the bolt. You want to tighten it more. If this does not fix the problem, replace crank arm and bolt. Failing that, new crank time I fear (Hollowtec 2 LX are nice and can be picked up for about £60).

If you are riding with loose cranks, it will chop out your cranks. If they are only a little wobbly, you could get some liquid metal (from Auto shops) and put it in and put the crank arm back on and not touch it for at least 24 hours to set. Then you should get a little more life out of your chopped arms.
Sometimes a little loctite on your nuts can help if you are not changing your sprockets too often.

It will only get worse- see if you can get a new arm maybe compd or something.
