My fiances brother from hell forgot his house key yet again. this is the 5 th time since he has lived with us anyways it was raining and he showed up at my work. i had my key on me yet i told him to wait for his brother. (i don't feel like i can trust him alone in the house ,read my previous questions about him, and on top of that he lies too often about dumb stuff) he had to wait on the porch for 20 minutes til i was off work, was this bad of me to do in this situation?

No, it's not rude. When I forgot my key I didn't expect anyone to let me in, if no one was home I just sat down with a book (I almost always have a book on me) or I went out and found something else to do, returning when someone would be home. I'd never have gone to my mom's or dad's place of work, even if they had worked nearby.

I think you were to a degree. If you don't trust him he shouldn't be living with you. If he is allowed to live there with your permission than you should treat him as a tenant, especially if he is paying rent. He is also your fiances' brother, I would think you would want to keep peace in the family. I sense from the begginning of this note that there is more to this than meets the eye (ie "brother from hell"). Ask yourself if you would have liked it if your boyfriends' sister made you stand on the porch, in the rain for 20 minutes. I don't know, but it seems that this is just causing unnecessary problems in the future...especially since you had the key on you.

No, I don't think it's rude. I think you and your finance are not being practical at all if you allow him to live with you, when you claim he can't be trusted. However I don't know the reason for him being there in the first place, his age etc. and all this might have a baring on why he is with you. I'd make sure when you come back from your honeymoon it's just the two of you! Three people can sure make a big crowd!!

I'm not sure why you allow him to live with you if he cannot be trusted. I don't think you were rude. You were doing what you could to contain a potentially unfortunate situation since he is not trustworthy.
Perhaps if he was sufficiently soaked by the rain, he will have learned a lesson about forgetting his keys.

I don't think so. Maybe he'll learn to keep a hold of his keys if he has to stay out in the rain more often.

No it wasnt. He has given you all the right reasons to NOT trust him. You have nothing to be sorry for and if he doesnt like it then thats his problem. Just cause you love your fiance that doesnt mean you have to love all the attachments or all the bs.

Why not have an extra key made and either hide it somewhere only you three know or keep it with you and when he shows up give him the extra key.. making sure to retrieve it when you get home for the next time.
As far as not trusting him in the house, that's serious and I would suggest a talk with your fiance.

It was not rude of you to do this. People will never learn from their mistakes until they suffer the consequences. If he is a repeat offender, then he deserved to wait. It wasn't like he was in the rain. I assume your porch is covered.

its your house and if you don't trust him in the house alone then you don't have to give him the key...there is a reason why he doesn't have a copy...so don't worry about it...you make the rules its your house
