God created everything through His words, and the bible says we will be held accountable for every ideal word spoke. Also in Proverbs 18:20 says that " from the fruit of a mans mouth the stomach is satisfied he is satisfied by the yield of his lips :21 - Death and life are in the power of the tongue. the word of man just like the word of God is very powerful.
also you are the company you keep, and if your cussing like a sailor who would want to be associated with that?

yes they are words, but they show that you are rude, disrespectful, and dont know how to speak your own language. im sorry if this offends you, but you have to know why we do not appreciate it. by the way, to swear means that you are giving you pledge that you will do something and you use a power to swear by in order to keep it. for example, "I swear by all that is holy ad just to always tell the truth as best I can and always protect the innocent."
have you ever had a conversation where there is absolutely now swearing? does it sound aweful or nice? if more people in this worldunderstood why they shouldnt cuss, the world would be a less angry place. i have known that cussing leads to major rebellions and even wars. the less there is of it the better off we'll be

i being a Christian, do slip sometimes because i am human
and the reason i find cursing rediculous has nothing to do with the fact that i am Christian... cursing is just ... i dont know how to explain it.. sometimes there is no point in them.. people curse for fun .. and its not cute, its disgusting... seriously record yourself one day.. and listen to how dumb you sound cursing.. (speaking in general)... but anyway.. cursing is rude and disrespectful, wouldnt you get mad if out of nowhere someone just starts cursing ... i hate it especially when children are around..
but yeah anyway.. i think it would be a better place if instead of using harmful words like curse words, we used nice words... dont you think?
or at least try and decrease it
oh and i hate when people adress each other with foul names.. you c**t or u b***h ... s***t... h** .. its rude..
and people listening to you will say oh that person has no respect, ..you may turn someone that is interested in you, down.. just by the way you speak
more people will like you if what comes out of your mouth is cleaner..
as for Christians that constantly curse
the same mouth that you use to praise the LORD should not be used to curse or say "bad" things
we're here to make a difference and set an example..
so if you're "Christian", and you curse more than eminem then sorry thats not a Christian stop puttin Christ's name to shame...

I don't really know to be honest. I don't think it's just a Christian thing, though. I know a lot of people who aren't Christians that just feel that that kind of talk is just uncalled for. Sure, we express extreme emotions that way sometimes, but it can be annoying when every other word is a cuss word- especially since the words have no meaning that way.
As a Christian, the most offensive thing you can say in my presence is the Lord's name when you're nota ctually referring to Him. God d*** it and Jesus Christ (when taken in vain) are extremely offensive. Why? Because God and Christ are the most sacred names to a Christian- our Creator, Savior, King, Lord.....We don't like to hear His name abused.

I think swear words are offensive to others and I don't NEED to say them (however sh*t slips out now and then) you're right - they are just words (so why say them if you don't have to?)
BUT
I believe the REAL swear words - the ones that really really hurt Christians and Religious people to the core are when others use Jesus Christ's & God's name in vain. That's harsh.

cussing and swearing isn't right anyways, but Christians don't swear becasue the Bible says to keep our words clean and pure. And we don't say things like Oh My g-o-d becasue that is taking Gods name in vain. So that's basically why. Everyone slips up once in a while, but as long as you REALLY try, it'll be okay. i think not using Gods name in vain is more important then not swearing, but both are important.

Here are 4 very good reasons among many that cause obedient Christians to avoid foul mouthed talk..
Exodus 20:7 : Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
James 3:8-10 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
Matthew 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
May God lead you to His truth .. Cap'n arlo

ok, I'm being serious and being a Christian, but I'm nobody's serious christian.
now that we have that straight
the commandment against taking God's name in vain has very little to do with sh1t, fuc7, pi33, cund, c0cksaucker, motherfauker and teats----George Carlin's famous 7 words you can't say on TV.
but
if you use Gods name carelessly---TO YOUR ADVANTAGE, like saying that you are a born-again or a Christian or that God talked to you and said.....whatever....daddy might spank you after you die. Taking the Lord's name in vain means using God's name carelessly, in a way that is helpful to you and dishonest. Hope this helps---all the best, Brian

I don't curse alot because I think it makes you sound unintelligent. I do let the occasional one slip, though.
Its not so much how Christian view cursing, its how other people view it. Non-Christians in general want to see us all as hypocrites, and if we go around using vulgar language, everyone else will say, "Well, she says she's a Christian and she acts just like me!" Its giving a bad impression on Christ.

But these words were provoked with both will and intellect of man. This means that there was intent of the personto give in with wrath and emotion over a matter.
