Evolution, "Christianity" and my "ilk": a question about the future?

Just received this answer from what I must assume is an 'enlightened' "christian":

"You have it all figured out, doncha?

"One problem. The more liberal and (supposedly) educated, the less children (part of which is due to being pro-abortion).

"Conservative Christians have a higher birth rate.

"What that means is, there will be less of your ilk to deal with in the future."

Unfortunately, there is a valid evolutionary argument here.

Nature has two reproductive strategies: the monkey and the ape.

The monkey produces more young in a shorter period of time by investing less energy into raising or educating its young.

The ape only produces one offspring every few years, and invests a great deal of energy into raising it and educating it.

Currently, Ape habitat is being taken over by the monkeys, whose numbers strip the habitat of food and force the apes closer to extinction.

A more-prolific reproductive cycle out-competes the less-prolific, despite the difference in intellect.

So the question is, when ten stupid people have ten votes and one smart person has one vote, what hope does Humanity have that smart people will elect smart people rather than stupid people electing another George Bush?

Or better yet, what hope do smart people have when stupid people are led to believe their leaders are talking to their god?

The transition from ape-ruled habitat to monkey-ruled habitat has been going on for several millions of years. It predates human intervention.

We are putting the finishing touches to ape exitinction, but the process is much older than us.

I have often wondered what the benefit of posting a rational question, like this one, on Y!A is. For a while, I was thinking that Y!A is not a reliable reference for the views of society.
I have 'evolved' my opinion. I now think that Y!A, sadly, is an accurate representation of our world views, as insane as they might be. Studies have shown, time and again, that less intelligent people tend to think that they are the superior ones.
The monkeys will blindly drive us all to extinction, with absolute ignorant arrogance. Humans will perish, eventually, thanks to the ones that deny the obvious truth.

"Conservative Christians have a higher birth rate"? Where are the statistics proving this? That person is an idiot who was probably held under water too long at baptism--or not long enough, as the case may be. How do these people graduate from high school?

Apes are dying out mainly because of HUMAN activities--poaching and habitat destruction--not because of monkeys. Not only that, but some apes are very predatory and will kill monkeys for food--chimpanzees have been filmed doing this. Many monkey species do invest a lot in the care of the young--it's why they live in large social groups--and many of them are also facing extinction from hunting and habitat loss. So, your theory doesn't work.

You pose an interesting question. I suppose if worse came to worse and "humanity" was one the line, I'd hope the "smart" people would focus on more important things than herd politics and antagonistic bigotry or for that matter, reverse bigotry.

For all our sakes I hope we don't ever get to that point. I don't have much confidence in the outcome.

As a side note, I am stunned at the volume of glass houses being destroyed on y/a religion section on a daily basis. From both sides. It's really ridiculous. A lot of people need hobbies.

The cliche' is true....arguing about this kind of thing is like running in the special olympics....even if you win you're still retarded.

There is a low budget movie about this, the low grade solider is cryogenically frozen and is thawed in a future over run by stupid people because they out bred the smart people. I give kudos to anyone that remembers the title.

If you are worried about stupid people become an educator, be proactive. Besides do you really think that Conservatism is the same as being stupid. To look at the 'other' and remove their humanity by calling them a bunch of monkeys just to elevate your own position is not away to make a justifiable point. There are plenty of brain dead drugged out progressives. Quit playing the bipartisan war it will get you know where fast, accept maybe an all controlling one world government.

lol. Your argument is completely invalid. Your are comparing humans to primates. You might as well compare us to cows, as we are a 96% genetic match to them, too. We are a 50% match to a banana.
Come on, the genetic match thing is a non-issue since just about the entire animal world shares very similar genetic make-up.
I do agree, though with some members of the human race being a genetic match to the Jellyfish. They have no brain, no spine, and float around with the current of every new-age idea that comes along.

I will say two matters. one million your assertions are absurd proper right down to the factor that it might feel that religion is genetic and no longer discovered. So fortunately any kids you could have...could discover religion in God. two. Punter...You pontificate Islam, and use an Islamic propoganda rag to take a look at to discredit the Bible??? I have learn the Koran. I have talked to four former Muslims. All four admit that Islam is essentially the most hateful faith on this planet, and people who find themselves peacful don't seem to be the bulk, however the minority. Evidence of that is practical...seem in any respect international clash. All or virtually all includes Islam and Muslims. Peaceful faith my @ss!

ANd your point is??? Man, much rage from you. Why? If you hate christians, ask yourself why? Christians only love others and want to lead them to Jesus. Dont hate them for it. Love them, even if you dont believe. ANd sometimes, put your pride and rage on a top shelf long enough to listen, as you may find they speak truth. JEsus has every answer to every question you have.

We Christians dont believe in abortion because it is human life WE know its life, as its growing. ANything dead stops growing. If we reach in the womb and take DNA< it is HUMAN DNA< not a monkey. So its the life of a human being that just cant life outside the womb yet. ANd God tells us to go forth and multiply. NOthing wrong with that. Why is it that athiests and all kinds of others of every decandent behavior one can imagine can have kids and not care for them and its ok. Lets all get into Bible study and prayer and see jsut what GOd says. LEts take it serious before Jesus comes. If a non believer is wrong, he loses everything. If a Christian were wrong, and they arent, they lose nothing, just stay happy decent ppl. Noone should take the chance that there is no God. Jsut study and find out for yourselves, and let noone sway you. Seek and ye shall find.
