I'm memorizing all of the notes on a standard tuned fretboard. should i memorize semitones as flats or sharps?

I would memorize the semitones so you can tune down or up half step easier.

You've done well in the memorization of the fretboard notes. Name those semitones sharps as you go up in pitch and call them flats when you go down in pitch.

Also learn the key signatures and how to determine the key either in sharps or flats.
