corns are fruits. as far as a plant is concrened, there is no differentiation between fruits, vegetables and nuts. all the prouct of fertilization or development of ovary in angiosperms are called fruits. some hard dry indehiscent fruits are called nuts.

actually i was asking myself this question to and i saw on this tv show in the food network and corn is a grain and a tomato is fruit and an avocado is a fruit as well pretty interesting huh

Fruit... If you cut a kernel in half, you'll see the little embryo. You can do this with a bean seed, too (and it's easier, because beans are dicots, whereas corn is a monocot).
