As long as "christianity" is recruiting from the shallow end of the gene pool, what can the rest of us do?
Obviously the more stupid people "christianity" recruits, the more dangerous it becomes as the likelihood of "christianity" falling under the control of a personality increases (bear in mind Hitler was elected overwhelmingly by German "christians").
And as "christians" are far more concerned with stopping abortion than global warming, it is extremely unlikely they will do anything about the environmental catastrophes looming on the horizon.
And let's face it, education is an uphill battle against the religious indoctrination that starts at birth.
As most answers from "christians" demonstrate, thinking isn't really their forte, yet they represent a majority of voters and are the ones a majority of politicians court, in any first-world nation.
So what is to become of the rest of us, and how do we survive the consequences of living in the "christian" era?

This is a copied and re-posted question originally asked by another user... I decided that it needed more coverage and posted it here.... but do not be decieved. This patronage is nothing like the TV and radio messages where the station DOES NOT support the views of the author - on the contrary, I certainly am in agreement with the notion that religion has seem it's best days and now must be retired, (... before it kills us all.)

I don't know. Fortunately, the Christian problem is mostly limited to the United States. The Muslim problem is in the Middle East.
Fortunately, theism is generally in decline. I like Acid Zebra's theory that this leads to a more extreme remainder, as reasonable people are sort of "filtered" out of religiosity.
I think Christianity will go away on its own, but I hope it won't be too late. Cross your fingers.

I wanted to agree with you but I cannot totally put eveything you say on christians alone, I do not know if you have a religion but I would prefer if you do not have. it's not only christians who are contributing to what is happening around and I know you knew it too.
The fault lies mostly on leadership where greed is the paramount reason to corruptions. Power is what makes people kill and not purely religion it just happen that religion always fall into the wrong hands and if you will really look into the book, its essence is geared towards human love of life. The teachers are the ones who took advantage of the ignorance of people to be subservient to the most high and asking them show it by serving them personally for their own gain. The tithing is not meant for the churches but for the storehouse of the nation which is the government of the people. they tell poor people as blessed are the poor yet it is from the poor's contributions where get their wealth. they will give you sermons and seminars for your well being but you have to pay oftentimes a high price for it.
It is not the religion but the religious who are doing the reverse of what they are teaching.

Since athiests are in the minority, then you need to work dilligently for freedom of conscience. If you were alive in the Dark Ages, you would have been tortured into repentance.
And in the Qur'am, "infidels" must be converted or suffer the consequences, resistance = death, cooperation = slavery.
Yes, as a Christian I thank God for a country that is neutral to religion, but, if you haven't guessed, that will soon change as the medieval wound must heal.
This would bother me, had God not foretold such things in divine prophecy.

Since you were kind enough to ask ;-)
I have serious doubts about our ability to survive. It's obvious the vast majority of "christians" do not think rationally. They are far too easily manipulated by personalities playing on their religious beliefs.
And as long as the rich and powerful can escape the coming disasters (amazing how much you can control your immediate environment with money, and how you can buy the most prime real estate with money), they have no reason to think twice about using their power over idiots to sustain a failed economic-industrial paradigm.
And as resources become more scarce and survival becomes more difficult, it will not be difficult for the powerful to scape-goat non-"christians" (Nero did it with far less knowledge about propaganda).
That will leave us with two choices: die on our feet or live on our knees.
It seems to me inevitable that the "Christian" Reich will rule the planet one day. It will be a new and brutal dark age.
I pity the children born these days.

As a Christian I realize that it is man who has caused all this global warming and sin in this world. As a Christian I realize that the Lord has reserved a place in Heaven for me. As a Christian I am not interested in politics or all the crap that comes along with being sucked into worldly matters. Hey, as I already said, man has royally screwed up this world, now they have to live with it. I am only here a short time and I plan to let the world know I love Jesus. The world is full of sin. Why love the world? Jesus died for me so that I may have everlasting life. You believe what you want to and stop being so angry!! Geez, why would I want to agree with you? So I could be angry and hateful too? No thank you. I'll continue to lead my life of *christian stupidty*

interesting that an atheist would admit this - "And let's face it, education is an uphill battle against the religious indoctrination that starts at birth.

I totally understand you. I consider myself Christian and are afraid of the rest of them too.
The overwhelming majority of them do not understand, they do not realize the big picture of the world, only the small infractions, which they indeed make big fusses over.
By being the majority of voters it's more than likely they can and will get coerced into voting someone into office that could easily play them like puppets. It's sad they cannot rise above the world or protect themselves and well being from certain schemes that are sure to be imposed on them.

Madmen are well aware that free-thinkers are their biggest threat. Of course they want the idiots. Idiots will do as they are told, even if it results in their demise. This is the way to have your agenda imposed on others. Superior numbers, obeying their leaders, will take the day.
It is the way that it has always been.
It seems to me that free-thinkers have difficulty uniting, it would be ironic if they did.
Without some degree of capitulation by individual free thinkers, unity probably will not happen.
When the proverbial 'pit bulls' are released upon the free-thinkers, we will scatter like individuals, we are not likely to unite. It is not our way.

Now Randy...If what you say is true, Christians are nothing more than stupid, non-thinking sheep willing to follow irrational nonsense and you and your kind are intellectuals who use reason and scientific evidence for the basis of your beliefs, then why should it be so difficult for someone of your stature and obvious intelligence to be able to subdue and control us to meet your desires.

Christianity is based on Love! The Love of God and the love of our fellow man. I have a hard time believing that a christian based world could harm anyone. are you enjoying your freedom here? How about they ability for you to express your limited sophomoric views? all of this is possible through a country based on the principles of God.
