Those support the "new" Immigration Bill out of your minds?
First of all, I heard news today that the airlines this summer will be sticking travelers with higher prices and more delays than ever seen - not because of petrolium prices, but because they are not able to handle the load of travelers that expect tickets.
The welfare system is so weighed down that it is crumbling before our eyes. There is no way to consistantly regulate or enforce the "safeguards" that have been installed in the system to prevent abuse.
Prison overcrowding is at its peak with the average prison being filled to 119% capacity.
Public schools in many areas are not able to expand fast enough to effectively acomodate the student load.
AND YOU PEOPLE WANT TO ALLOW 12 MILLION MORE PEOPLE (PLUS THE UP TO 4 FAMILY MEMBERS PER APPLICANT) TO ENTER THIS COUNTRY OVER THE NEXT 6 YEARS?????????

Some of you missed my point. What I am asking is that shouldn't we start taking care of our own citizens BEFORE importing 12 million more who under the current laws should be deported?

Sgt, have you seen who we voted for this election? You are right about what you are stating. This already happened in the 80's and it solved nothing at all. There is not a comprehensive immigration bill, and to me giving any criminal amnesty is not very law abiding of our politicians to do.

It does no good because, if you tell an illegal they have to pay a 5000 dollar fine at the embassy in their country of origin, they are just going to take their chances and stay inside our borders. The coyotes or smugglers will probably under price this fine, so where's the incentive for illegals to go legit? if they commit no crimes while they are here which most of them don't. Sounds too punitive and I'm not being bleeding heart lib here, I'm just being realistic. It will just add to the problem not lessen it. Now the U.S. has a right to decide what to do with it's borders but lessen the fine and put a good comprehensive guest worker program in place, where the immigrant workers pay taxes for the services they receive during their stay rather than being underground and off the books for the government, after all they do low level jobs most Americans are too spoiled to do, like working the fields, sweeping floors etc.

Actually, those 12+ million are already here. Millions more over and above that will be attracted by the message Amensty sends. (Just like the message the Amnesty for 3 million in '86 sent to the 12+ million waiting for the currrent one to become law).

12 million is only a guess, when in 1986 when amnesty was granted it was suppose to be for only 1.3 but in the end 3.3 were granted amnesty. If this insanity is granted I bet over 50 million will be granted. How are they going to stop John Smith from applying 25 times each with a different birthday, the fraud is going to be overwhelming. This is being done by our own elected officials, and they were elected to look out for our interest

We're not letting in 12 million more, they are already here. I think 12 million is nowhere near the real number.

Maybe if you would get out of our countries and quit exploiting our people and resources and making things worse, we wouldn't have to come here. Have you ever noticed that the massive immigration started after NAFTA was signed?

I don't think the reasons things are pretty bad around here has a lot to do with illegals (though, I'm not gonna deny they have nothing to do with it.)
Those 12 millions illegals are just easy blames. It's so convenient for some of us to point their fingers towards the illegals only when there are also other things to look at.

I know I don't. But the sorry piece of crap's who are in office no longer care about how we feel. As you know, once they are in office the person who decides te votes are the ones paying the lobbiest as well as the businesses who support them. Our vote no longer counts. Just look at the war in Iraq.
