simpleplan: The "hell" doctrine is not a plausible teaching in the Holy Bible. You can not find the words in the Bible, where it states that a person "goes to hell". The hell teaching was started by the ancient Egyptians to exercise control over the general populace and later, was adopted by the Greeks to the same end. As a Christian, I can tell you that there is no place like an ever-burning hell fire for any human. When you check into the Biblical teaching, in the Book of Revelation, chapter 20, verse 14, you will see that "hell" is cast into the lake of fire. This raises a very good question, which flies into the face of this piece of bad theology. If hell were real and an "ever-burning" fire - then why is it "cast into the lake of fire" ? Obviously, this is not a plausible doctrine. "Hell" is a mistranslation of the original Greek translation from which the Bible was written of the word "hades" - "grave"or death. In the Old Testament of the Bible, "hell" derives itself from the Hebrew word "Sheol" meaning hole or grave. It is simple as that. God is in the saving business for all humans ever born not the "roast them forever" business. In the end, we ALL win.
Of course, though, we All have to give account to God for all of our actions.

I am a Christian and yes, if you do not believe in God you will go to hell. I do not say that to be mean or judgemental, it is just that I stand firm in my belief. If you turn to Jesus truly believe in Him and accept him as your Lord and Saviour, then you have made a commitment to turn against sinning. So if an axe murder realizes that what he has done is wrong and he admits that he is a sinner and he asks Jesus to help him change, then he has humbled himself. He realizes that he is wrong and that he is nothing w/o the Lord. He loves the Lord and will then try to live a life as free from sin as possible. But if a person thinks that his good works will save him, then he is a selfish, stubborn and arrogant person. How can a person such as this truly love anyone but themselves? You can be a good person and do good things, but if you think that you can save yourself, then you are stubborn and misled. It does make sense. It is all about loving someone more than yourself and realizing the truth. I may get a lot of thumbs down for my belief, but I am not being judgemental, I am explaining my thoughts. I am not here to make anyone angry, I am here to do as I feel compelled.

He doesn't bring the axe murderer into heaven unless he's asked for forgiveness and has accepted Jesus. You can't go to heaven if you don't believe/accept Jesus. What's the use in spending the rest of your life with a God you don't believe in?

You're right, it doesn't make sense. That's one of the things I recognized as odd about Christianity when I was just a child, and one of the reasons I became an atheist by age 11.
Even though I was a Christian when I was young, I never did believe in hell. It's not real and neither is God so I don't worry about going there.

The ten commandments were sent to condemn man. We are all sinners. None of us are good enough for heaven; we all deserve hell. Only through belief in Jesus Christ and the price he paid on the cross can we enter into heaven. Non-believers are destine for hell ... regardless of how "good" a person they are. A murderer that accepts Christ is a saved man and his sins are washed away by the blood of Chirst.

I don't believe that God sends anybody to hell - even bad people. I have a feeling that the only hell that needs to exist is our own understanding of the pain we have caused another person, and I think that is what we will understand in the next life. I'm personally of the belief that if we didn't do so well the first time around, we may get sent back to do it until we get it right; just my personal belief, but there it is, for whatever you think it's worth :-)

GOD..... Never sends ANYONE.... to Hell.... !
ONE Chooses hell and then the Lake of Fire for Eternity BY REJECTING.... the Blood of Jesus in payment for Ones SIN / SINS!
(Hebrews 10:29-30-31) Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy of punishment, the one who has trampled the Son of God, and who has counted the blood of the covenant with which he was sanctified an unholy thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?
(Heb 10:30) For we know Him who has said, "Vengeance belongs to Me, I will repay, says the Lord." And again, "The Lord shall judge His people."
(Heb 10:31) It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
FIRST... before you TRY AND MAKE GOD.... in your Own Image... YOU SHOULD TRY AND READ.... His Word?
Thanks, RR

Its not my place to say who goes to hell and who don't.
I read in Revelation 20 of a Great White Throne Judgment.
Now, that is one seat, that is to big for my seat, to sit in!
What I will say is "according to the scriptures." That Just "believing" in God want get you a reserved dwelling in heaven neither.
It takes the Blood of Jesus, to sign you a reservation and a title deed to a dwelling place in heaven.
It's the Blood that makes the different.
Proof of God's Existence? The Bible says we walk by faith; Not by sight.
Were did the exploding star of evolution come from that your theory is built on?
Just think? If God hadnt created that star - Evolution wouldnt be.

No it doesn't make sense. God doesn't send anyone to hell. Hell is a state of consciousness that we put ourselves into. (Remorse, Guilt, Self-Condemnation).

Dear Simple,
That is not for us to decide. That is for Jesus to decide. It is for us to become Christians and to continue in faith until death (Revelation 2:10). We are not to judge others, Christ will come and judge each and every one of us at that time. Only GOD knows when that time is. You and I must Hear, Believe, Repent of our Sins, Confess Christ as GOD's Son, be Baptized, and the Continue to be Faithful until Death. These are found in HIS WORD. Have a wonderful evening.
Thanks,
Eds, Christian.
