The dribbling noses and trouble breathing and such....

when we cry, our tear ducts (which are connected to the sinuses) churn out signals to produce more fluid. This in turn makes our sinuses fill with a lot of back up mucus to line our noses in case an irritant gets in there, to help it expel it.

Tears are the eyes own natural eyewash anyway, so when an irritant or emotional reaction occurs, this kick starts the whole process.

The sinuses and tear ducts are connected. When one goes usually the other follows.

Over-work!!
They are connected to the tear ducts and anything that makes your eyes water can make your nose run!
When we cry too much fluid is released and has to go somewhere!

I can answer this. It is because we are not sitting up or standing. This makes it so the sinuses cannot drain, tus making your nose stuffy. ALSO while you are laying your airways are constricted slightly.
