How long do ankle sprains take to heal and what can you do for each degree of them. I think I pretty badly sprained my ankle so I was just wondering

R- rest (stay off it, use crutches )
I- ice ( helps to keep the swelling down )
C- compression ( ACE - type wrap to support the joint )
E- elevation ( keep it up on pillows, helps to reduce swelling )
A sprain can take longer than a fracture to heal, and can be more prone to re-injury if you try to rush the healing process. Take it seriously. Good luck !

It depends on how much rest you give to sprained ankle ! There is ligament called Y ligament which is very strong and when it gets hurt and stretched than it is very difficult to make it correct so wear elasto crape bandage to stabilize and restrict the joint movement and do hot cold fomentation alternate to relieve the pain as well swelling ! take some anti inflammatory drugs like Ibuprofen which is available without the prescription of doctor 1 always YouRsmE

I agree it can take 2 or 3 months of being off the ankle in any major degree like sports or running. Use ice when swelling comes in to reduce it. That's about it. Just time like everything else that goes wrong. Been there, done that.

ace wrap helps with sprains and keep weight off of it. Ice it but or no more then 3-4 mins at a time otherwise you can hurt it more.

If it's badly, it could take up to two to three months. Stay off of it for a week or so. Ice about 20 kin every day and elevate if possible
