try to get a copy of your insurance details first thats more important , mot test certificate if you cant get that its not the end of the world , most police stations are too busy to take the matter any further, and you could well end up with a letter and a warning thats about it , sometimes you could get a fine but its around 30 pounds

Basically you're stuffed. You might get away with faxed copies but don't count on it. The MOT station can provide duplicate cert., and insurers can do replacement cover note. Leaving it to the last day wasn't such a good idea. There are some things you really ought to keep with you or in the car.

Explain this at the police station and hopefully they can look on the computer whether it is insured and MOT. The god thing is you have your licence and I suggest taking in your registration certificate as prof of your car they are checking.

Most insurance company websites will allow you to print a card, or a declarations page. As far as the other, I assume that is a registration of some kind. I can't believe that you can't go down to the local office and get a copy. There's no reason not keep that stuff in your glove box. If your concerned about having your vehicle broken into, put them in your trunk.

Contact your insurance provider and ask them to email/fax you a copy of your insurance.
When you go to the station toomorrow just explain that you are still waiting for the documents to be sent from your insurance company, im sure they will be pleased that you went in and hopefully will give you an extention.
good luck.
regards, Gaz

The only thing you can do is go to the police station and explain. They MAY believe you and give you an extension . . .
That is why you're given 7 days in the first place, to sort it out. Should have thought of it earlier.
