Why do Christian tell me that we are under a New Convenat. That Gods word in the old Testament is no more and we are under a new one (which the old testiment is over 60 percent of the bible). Why do Christian say we have no more laws and we don't have to follow the Ten Commandments and we can eat what ever we want? Where does it say that in the Bible?

Jesus said that He didn't come to change the Law but to give it meaning. We are under a New Covenant which means that we no longer have to go through all the elaborate rituals (a part of which was ritual cleanliness and uncleanliness in food) for atonement for sin. Jesus became the ultimate atonenment for the forgiveness of sin but sin still exists and is under God's judgement just as it always was. The Commandments still stand.

The Old Testament law is not only the 10 commandments, but the entire books of Leviticus and Deuteronomy. there are so many laws that it is virtually impossible to not break at least one. The penalty is death. Under the OT Law, an animal was sacrificed to cover this debt, but could not remove the debt. When Jesus Christ came and died, He payed our debt once and for all. Being the perfect Son of God, He is the only one w/out a debt of His own to pay, therefore only He could do this. He makes the offer of forgiveness available to all, but it's up to each of us to accept it. Paul explains this in Romans chapter 8. All of Romans, actually.

In Acts 10, Peter has a vision of a sheet coming down from Heaven w/ all kinds of meat on it. God says rise, Pete, kill and eat. This why we are no longer bound by the old Testament dietary laws

Well the Christians use the OT for history and still use it, because they say Jesus came to fulfill the law, but the only one law, that he was the Messiah the OT & NT is for the Jewish people to follow, god did not impose such laws upon the gentiles. How ever you are free to participate in there created world or created gift of god. However you would be better off not participating because the god we think of may not be the best god to worship. The god to worship is right in front of you, you have to understand the world that we live is evil and if you would look under the cover of man and you will see a bright new world. We have been lied to for years and we are born into the lie and its up to you to find the truth, because truth is in the eye of the beholder.

The distinction is between the ceremonial and moral laws of the old testament. Ceremonial laws concerning food, cleanliness, etc., were on the same level of observance as theft or murder. What Christians argue freedom from is the ceremonial laws.

No Christian should tell you we are not bound by the 10 commandments.

They are not exactly right, but close. To better understand this I suggest U read Heb. 8:7 thru chapter 9 as it covers just what U seek information on. Suffice it to say, Christians are a "New Creation" able to directly ask God for forgiveness, but it is NOT Permission to Disobey God's Standards. Basically the "Ritual" aspect is removed from Judaism in becoming a Christian. John

Before Christ the the laws were set up to have a path to God....

But they really didn't work. People were finding ways to get around the laws...

When God sent Jesus to earth to die for our sins... the way to God was through Jesus. Not through laws.

6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6)

Hebrews 8
The High Priest of a New Covenant
1The point of what we are saying is this: We do have such a high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, 2and who serves in the sanctuary, the true tabernacle set up by the Lord, not by man.

3Every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices, and so it was necessary for this one also to have something to offer. 4If he were on earth, he would not be a priest, for there are already men who offer the gifts prescribed by the law. 5They serve at a sanctuary that is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: "See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain."[a] 6But the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, and it is founded on better promises.

7For if there had been nothing wrong with that first covenant, no place would have been sought for another. 8But God found fault with the people and said[b]:
"The time is coming, declares the Lord,
when I will make a new covenant
with the house of Israel
and with the house of Judah.
9It will not be like the covenant
I made with their forefathers
when I took them by the hand
to lead them out of Egypt,
because they did not remain faithful to my covenant,
and I turned away from them, declares the Lord.
10This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel
after that time, declares the Lord.
I will put my laws in their minds
and write them on their hearts.
I will be their God,
and they will be my people.
11No longer will a man teach his neighbor,
or a man his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,'
because they will all know me,
from the least of them to the greatest.
12For I will forgive their wickedness
and will remember their sins no more."[c]

13By calling this covenant "new," he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and aging will soon disappear.

The New Covenant is Christ........

The new covenant is spoken about first in the book of Jeremiah. The old covenant that God had established with His people required obedience to the Old Testament Mosaic law. Because the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23), the law required that people performed rituals and sacrifices in order to please God and remain in His grace. The prophet Jeremiah predicted that there would be a time when God would make a new covenant with the nation of Israel.

"'The day will come,' says the Lord, 'when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and Judah....But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel on that day,' says the Lord. 'I will put my law in their minds, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people" (Jeremiah 31:31,33). Jesus Christ came to fulfill the law of Moses (Matthew 5:17) and create a new covenant between God and His people. The old covenant was written in stone, but the new covenant is written on our hearts, made possible only by faith in Christ, who shed His own blood to atone for the sins of the world. Luke 22:20 says, "After supper, [Jesus] took another cup of wine and said, 'This wine is the token of God's new covenant to save you – an agreement sealed with the blood I will pour out for you.'"

Now that we are under the new covenant, we are not bound by the law. We are now given the opportunity to receive salvation as a free gift, not as a reward for any of our good works (Ephesians 2:8-9). Through the life-giving Holy Spirit who lives in all believers (Romans 8:9-11), we can now share in the inheritance of Christ and enjoy a permanent, unbroken relationship with God. Hebrews 9:15 declares, “For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance – now that He has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.”

Because Jesus came and fulfilled the law. The same reason we do not have to slaughter and offer a sacrifice every time we sin. We should still follow the commandments, but realize there were some extras added in, as in love your neighbor as yourself. It all really boils down to Loving God and Loving others, if you do this then you have followed every law God has!!

I believe you are talking about the Laws covered in the book of Leviticus (Old Testament). Here's an interesting site about how "Christians" pick and choose which laws to obey and which ones they ignore:

All and all it is about getting control over peoples minds and souls. Some say follow me, others - no, follow me.
Do not believe that Old Laws are no more. Old and New laws still work regardless some people say....
