My husband has lived with RLS since he was a young boy. The only thing that really helps is to keep his feet and legs warm (socks and sweatpants) at night. Also, if he can't sleep, he gets up and takes a hot bath. There is medication out there that supposedly helps RLS patients. Talk to your doctor to see if it's right for you.

I know people do it for leg cramps/charley horses, but RLS is little more intense. Try putting some tub socks in the dryer if it is keeping you up and put on the warm socks to go back to bed. There are a few great medicines out now for RLS, I don't really get bothered with it any more. First I was on something called ambitriptilyne, and now I am on Lyrica. I have been very happy with both.

Q - If the stress/physical activities is the cause of an affliction, would you think eliminating the cause would actually help the symptoms? A - Yes, to certain degree. But, in our lives, we are constantly facing stress from different sources. Are you able to eliminate every source that cause you stress? Why not try and learn how to handle stress? Q - Do you know of anyone amongst your firends/families whom has actually been afflicted with an illness and eliminating stress has helped the person recover from the illness? A - Many of my patients do! However, many of them don't elimate stress, they solve the stress! BTW, vitamin B complex can help with RLS. Need to take consistantly for at least 3 months to see effect. The happiest people don't have everything in life. Neither do they always get what they wished for. They just make the best of everything that life brings their way!

Both I and my sister suffer from "restless leg syndrome" there is no real disease or other symptom the contributes to it. My doctor has me on "Requip"they come in 25, 50 75 and 100 mg pills and work wonders. take one at night and one in the morning. I was going crazy until he prescribe this for me, I then suggested this to my sister and she got it from her doctor.

I have heard of it but there is no scientific proof that it really works so it is just an old wives tale. Some people swear that it also helps their leg cramps so you can't argue with them if it works for them.
