find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)
ab lounge wont make you lose any weight, you will gain muscle - because the only fat burning exercise is cardio.

Drink lots of water.
Cut out all soda's.
Stop eating fast food.
A serving size is the size of the palm of your hand.
Never eat past 7pm.
Think of your meals as pyramid shaped... with the largest meal in the morning, and the smallest meal in the evening.
Work out 3 to 4 times a week, for 45 minutes to an hour.
Stretch before & after each workout.
During your workout, keep your heart rate up, but not too high. (If you get your heart rate too high, your body will burn muscle for fuel, instead of fat.)
Walking is the best exercise. It works every muscle in your body. You could walk for 30 minutes, and then use a different machine each day, for the next 30 minutes.
If you use weights, set it at a low weight, and do 20 or 30 reps. (Low Weight + High Reps = Tone) (High Weights + Low Reps = Bulk) (If you bulk up muscle, before getting tone... you will not look muscular... you will just look bigger.)
And don't forget to drink LOTS of water.
Hope this helps!!

The main thing to keep in mind is to take in less calories than you use. 1 pound equals 3500 calories, so if you eat 500 less calories than your body burns every day, you should lose one pound per week. Also remember that muscle weighs more than fat, so you shouldn't be focusing on building more muscle - focus more on cardiovascular exercise, such as running, swimming, walking, etc. to burn fat.

you should be working out everyday, and if you want to lose weight fast, then cut your diet to 2000 calories. (less is unhealthy because you should exercise daily) i can tell you that in terms of exercise, the quickest and funnest ways to lose weight are dancing and aurobics. at 18 though, its probably too late to start dance lessons, so try aurobics!
Also, my tips about losing weight are:
***drink a glass of water before every meal and snack, because it helps fill you up faster
***drink eight glasses of water per day. (speeds up the metabolism and is vital in all body processes)
***don't eat red meat more than 3 times per week (in the long run, you can develop cancer and other heart diseases, and also, women who eat red meat 3 times per week have been proven to be at a higher risk for cancer)
***running is also great exercise, and even better than walking, because when you run, you lose fat more than muscle, and it helps you look leaner. Also, when you run, you are literally hopping from one foot to the other, which is less natural to the body, and therefore burns more calories faster
***try to eat whole grains, NOT white bread or white grains (white rice, muffins, non-whole grain cereal, etc)
***eat healthy foods you enjoy!
***put down your utensils between bites, and chew thouroughly
***the average person eats dinner in 7.5 minutes, but it takes the brain 13 minutes to register that you're full, so eat SLOWLY
***it takes more calories to physically eat celery than there are in celary
i don't know exactly how many calories it takes to lose one pound, but i do know though that if you exercise daily (or as close to that as possible) and you eat appx. 2,000 calories per day, than you will start to lose weight. Also, i have found it helpful that when i am sitting at a desk, i bounce my feet, because if you are sitting down for a while, and doing that, than you will burn a few more calories. :-)

The most important thing to keep in mind while loosing weight is keeping your sugar level balanced by eating protein every few hours and keeping carbs and fats low. Stay away from refined sugar and soda, white bread and refined flower products. It takes 3300 calories to lose 1 lb. good luck
