God does have a sense of humor..
Look at Israel and how they have survived in the middle of their enemies. Little nation, but guns. they are the best fighters in the world bar none.

The Bible talks about having a merry heart. God is OK with humor as long as it's in good taste.

LIFE AND DEATH ARE SERIOUS
David was full of psalms unto the LORD and spirit Matt.22:42-44; Satan will loose and Christ will win 1Cor.15:22-28,51-58; John 3:16; Life will come to be and death no more. Heb.2:9,14,16;
Col.3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Gal.5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

You don't find it funny that Jonah was swallowed by a great fish and spit out on the shore?
What do you think Jonah looked like after spending 3 days in a fish? What did he smell like, yet he had to go whiteness to people that he hated. All that for a punishment for not going in the first place. Pretty funny punishment if you think about it.

LOL!
I don't think you've read the bible. There's TONS of humor in it.
For instance when Jesus and his boys go into one town and Jesus preaches, the town gets all in a tizzy and threatens to stone him to death. So James and John, the sons of Zebedee, tell Jesus he should call down the thunder and lightening on this town.
Ever after that, Jesus calls the two the sons of thunder.
Mark 3:17
James son of Zebedee and his brother John (to them he gave the name Boanerges, which means Sons of Thunder)

I disagree on many levels.
God is not real.
The Bible *does* contain humor. For example, the entire book of Jonah is a joke at the expense of those Jews who considered non-Jews to be lesser people. (In other words, the author of Jonah was writing a polemic against most of the other biblical prophets, most of whom were rabidly xenophobic.) The character of Jonah is a caricature of a typical xenophobic prophet, and he undergoes slapstick violence and ultimately ends up cursing out a plant all because of his prejudice. It's supposed to be hilarious.

There are of course many humorous events in the bible. Goliath laughing when he sees David is of course one. Don't you think Jesus chuckled when he said the words, "go and sin no more?" As if, we could, sin no more.

Sarcasm
Mathew 7:9-10
9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
Giving your kid a snake -- lol -- now that's dry humor

Actually, I find the Bible downright hilarious in many sections...damnation and sin in one section, god's path in another...and it is the same subject matter. ! I assume the whole thing is a joke, badly written at that.
