A deadly one as you bring an end to a life created by God. You wouldn't be here if it wasn't for His love and His gift of Life and suicide is like spitting in the face of someone who just gave you the greatest gift of all.

If you believe in the Law of Karma and in Re-Incarnation; you must also know that God has a design for each individual. One could argue then that Suicide may be part of that plan. We are led to believe by Spirit that Suicide has a penalty. That the person who commits this act, rests in a dark place, then returning to the Earth Plane,in a new identity. That identity going through much the same set of circumstances as the previous soul. Leading no doubt to that point of "Do I,or Don't I" commit suicide again. If it is God's plan that we die at a given age, then this seems plausible. So really it isn't a sin,in earthly terms. It may well be part of a Souls progression, and a neccessity. At least that is my take on the matter. As a Para Psychologist I do not hold a Christian belief in Suicide. Go in God's Light And Love.

Suicide is a bad choice.
There are times when I have contemplated it so I know.
Life is precious, even a bad life.
There are times when people feel there is no way out, no reason to live. Killing ones self doesn't solve the financial problems those are left for your family. It doesn't solve the relationship problems. It leaves others with regrets.
I don't know about reincarnation after suicide but I just don't think it would be a good Karma move.

I read an article several years ago writtern by a Catholic priest on the subject. His view was that people who commit suicide due to depression and/or other mental health issues were not in their right mind when they made the decision and so he stated that suicide in that case was not considered a sin by the church. If however, a person commits suicide to avoid punishment, such as you kill you wife and then yourself to avoid jail, then yes suicide would be considered a sin.
It made sense to me and that is how I see it.

"Sin" is Spiritual suicide, but we believe the Soul is Immortal.
There are as many reasons to believe Suicide is a Sin, as there are not to-the Ways and Paths of God, to God, and for God are infinite and endless.

Is it a Sin to end the suffering of an Animal? No.

Is it a Sin to kill an Animal for food? No.

Is it a Sin to Kill any Life-Form for fun? Yes.

First of all, if you are thinking about committing suicide.....please seek help!!! Life is worth living. No matter how bad things get, there is always a way out. Please see a doctor or talk to a friend/relative about why you are feeling this way. I know you probably feel like there is no other option right now....but there is. To answer your question....I am not sure if suicide is a sin or not but I know it is a very selfish act. Severe Depression is a major illness, please seek help. If you feel uncomfortable talking to someone you know, please consider calling a crisis hotline. I will keep you in my prayers. Remember you will get through this!!!

Stunned friends of a suicide victim may thus take comfort in knowing that “Jehovah has shown mercy to those fearing him. For he himself well knows the formation of us, remembering that we are dust.” (Psalm 103:10-14) Only God can fully understand the role of mental sickness, extreme stress, even genetic defects, in a “suicidal crisis,” which, the National Observer noted, “is not a lifetime characteristic [but] often a matter only of minutes or of hours.”—See Ecclesiastes 7:7.

Granted, one who takes his own life deprives himself of the opportunity to repent of his self-murder. But who can say whether one driven to suicide might have had a change of heart had his fatal attempt failed? Some notorious murderers have, in fact, changed and earned God’s forgiveness during their lifetime.—2 Kings 21:16; 2 Chronicles 33:12, 13.

Thus, Jehovah, having paid “a ransom in exchange for many,” is within his right to extend mercy, even to some self-murderers, by resurrecting them and giving them the precious opportunity to “repent and turn to God by doing works that befit repentance.”—Matthew 20:28; Acts 26:20.

The Responsible, Scriptural View of Life

Life is a gift from God, not something to be abused or to end at one’s own hand. (James 1:17) Hence, the Scriptures encourage us to see ourselves, not as immortal souls, but as valuable creations of the God who loves us, who treasures our being alive, and who looks forward with joy to the time of the resurrection.—Job 14:14, 15.

Love strengthens our recognition that suicide—though evading one’s own burdens—only heaps more problems on loved ones left behind. As far as the one who rashly took his own life is concerned, we humans cannot judge as to whether he will get a resurrection or not. How reprehensible was he? God alone searches ‘all hearts and every inclination of the thoughts.’ (1 Chronicles 28:9) But we may be confident that ‘the Judge of all the earth is going to do what is loving, just, and right!’—Genesis 18:25.

I answer this from the viewpoint of a Christian, which means that i believe you cannot reincarnate at all. As far as suicide, it is a sin. The commandment in" Exodus 20:14 (KJV) is "thou shalt not kill." Suicide is still killing and thus violating the commandment.

Yes it is a sin. This person will reincarnate.... however, according to the law of Karma his or her life will be taken at the very moment when he or she wants to live and be happy the most..... It is very sad. Example: you fall in love you're so happy and then you're taken away from this happiness.... It is just an example.

Suicide is a long term decision for a short term problem. It is considered a sin because you don't have the right to take a life.
