It will be very expensive to have any dogs that aren't spayed/neutered. You can be fined for breeding without a permit. It won't effect this litter, but if you are breeding without having homes on a waiting list, then you should spay your female anyway. Plus pups should never be sold or given away under 8 weeks old.

Only competition dogs and service dogs will be allowed to stay intact. So plan to spay.

It has nothing to do with papers it has to do with the fact that there are too many "pets" in the pound, so they are trying to make a law that only certain dogs can breed in CA.

It's a good idea, but a very badly written law.

Yes, it's very true. So what it means for you. Is after this litter you'll have to get your dog spayed and the puppies will have to be spayed or neutered by the time they are 4 months old. The Bill is called "CA Healthy Pet Act" # AB 1634. Hope this helps you know more about the Bill.

Your husband needs to alter right into a outdoor breeder. do no longer enable HIM. you're suited: there are various canines, no longer only labs, that are alive and undesirable and finally end up euthanised. there are various risky canines, or canines with out papers that are being bred each and every of the time. in case you truly need to reproduce, you should a minimum of be a reponsible breeder and rattling precise there is countless artwork to be achieved. mutually as you /can/ breed an risky/"paper-much less" canines as this is no longer a criminal offense, possibilities are high which you would be ruining the lives of each and every of the doggies you produce. people who prefer to purchase their appropriate better half will do countless analyze and the actuality that the b*tch would not have papers will turn them off right this moment, for this reason they are going to on no account purchase a puppy from you. you're able to be able to bump into the occasional green douchebag who has no thought what it truly is to possess a canines, and that they could purchase a puppy from you once you're fortunate, yet assume the canines to finally end up in a shield interior of a few months tops. So the bottomline is: do no longer breed.

There was a thread about this a few days ago and yes I believe it's true. All animals have to be spayed/neutered unless they are AKC registered, service dogs or they have a health issue. They still must not be bred though if they are exempt because of the health issue. If the dog is registered with any of the mutt registeries then they can;t be bred. They have to be AKC.

I would check with the laws in my state its' through th aggriculture dept also ;you could try to call your state vet.
but I would think you should be ok since the dog already had pups before this would be voted in if it is true
I'm sure your dog isn't the only one with pups beofre or bred befoe this possible vote.

Yes and no.

The law they are trying to pass is a mandatory spay and neuter law which would require all dogs, except show dogs raised and kept by breeders (who would have to apply to become a breeder and pay fees and such) to be neutered by four months of age.

Personally, I think it would be great if they passed a law that only AKC registered dogs can be bred. There are so many unwanted dogs out there, and so many back yard breeders who have no clue about breeding that such a bill could be useful. Especially considering that *most* of the 6 million dogs in shelters each year come from backyard breeders, accidental matings, etc.

I wish it were that way every where. But, go one step futher & make the papers Pedigree papers & not just registry papers. This will improve all breeds back to their original standards. No X's. Just pure breed dogs.

Please, spay &/or neuter your pets. Be a responsible owner.

Hey, it's a dreamers world, right?

NO! That will absolutely not go through. So many puppies on born on accident, they couldn't really stop that, so they won't be able to pull that through anyway. But there are so many dogs that are not papered and even more that are not even a breed, but muts. So it will not go through any way.

Oh man, I hope it's true, but either way, you'd probably be 'granfathered' in meaning, it won't apply to your pups.
