interesting. The Didache, an early Church document (possibly 2nd century) says 'baptize in living (i.e. running) water by preference, and cold water, by preference' (7.1, 2). Given the state of the world at the time, cold running water was probably healthier for you than warm still water, which could have been stagnant.
But today it's probably convenience.

I got baptized in cold freezing cold water on Sunday on Easter it felt like someone going to lake in the mid of winter that is how cold it was. Our church just build there church and I don't think they could afford a heater at the time but all that counts is that your baptized. My daughter got so scared because the water was so cold and the pastor barley got her hair wet. But all that matters is the act and the reason why your getting baptized. Thank you for asking this question because me and my daughter was wondering the same thing. God bless you!

It is cold for the cold-hearted. Those who are bathed in the light of the Lord feel it like a warm balm.

Nope. Water just gets colds when it sits out in a pool or basin.

No, it must be due to the fact it is stored and blessed. It is pure water. Decanting and storage in a cool place will usually do this.

No, it's because your church can't afford a heater in their baptism pool. Some bigger churches have the heaters and the water is nice and warm.
