I have a van and a cat. I am Canadian, I plan on traveling the southern United States, and when I get there, I'm sure I will be tempted to move further south. How is crossing the boarders with animals. And where can I go to find out regulations before I go? I'm sure certain boarders have different rules? How do I find out what?

Make sure you have all of your documentation for the animal. All of the shots necessary and identification like a picture. Hopefully the animal is microshipped, at least in the US it could be found. It's only around $50 US dollars.
If I were you I'd contact the Canadian Embassy.
Keep one thing in mind....if you are moving to way south of the US. The laws are extremely different. Be prepared for culture shock as well.
Used to travel ther for work.

no longer a lot, I crossed the border some years in the past, they only ask you some elementary questions like how long are you going to stay, why are you coming and so on. do no longer subject if he's a British citizen and you're an American citizen you will have not got any subject. If whether you had the nationality of a rustic for which you needed to obtain a visa then you definately might have an prolonged wait. have relaxing, Canada's a stunning usa :)

Just visit a local Vet in the city before you cross, they will have all the required info.
