Sorry to say, if HE's telling you that you don't understand him....he's telling you that you will never understand him. I have a friend that her husband used this line on her from the beginning and they didn't have a happy marriage.
Be smart and take this as an early sign of what may be to come.
I would say that you should take a break from him (and other guys) and take some time for yourself and enjoy life and do some things that you have been wishing you could do but couldn't because you had this guy bringing you down. Go out and do something for yourself and realize that you are a very worthwhile person that is knowledgeable and sensitive and understanding. WHile out living life for yourself you're bound to make some new friends and maybe eventually find a nice healthy relationship to be in -- and still liking yourself -- not having someone bring you down. You've heard it before, "Misery loves company." Don't let yourself be the company in that saying. Good luck to you and remember you are a strong love-worthy person.

Do a better job understanding him. Fact is men are very easy to understand, the problem is on the womans side. She over thinks things, want to know answers to things that don't have them.

I think it is hard to understand why a guy would say that to you if he isnt explaining himself to you, and at least trying to see things from your perspective. Hopefully he will recognize that you are attempting to get to know him better and eventually open up more to you.

if he keeps saying that you don't know him or understand him, tell him that you're trying to but if he keeps building that wall between you two you're never going to be able to.
