You *need* a marriage license, a bride, a groom, two witnesses, an officiant, and someplace to have the wedding. All these can be had for under $250 for the most part.

You really need God in your marriage to start. You should both make a commitment that even when things get tough you will NOT get divorced. That is what you are committing to when you say your marriage vows anyway.

My brother had a very small wedding with very few people invited (just close family and a couple of friends) I on the other hand had a huge wedding and sent out 500 invitations. I loved my dress, I loved the groom with all my heart. Everyone I loved was there - It was an excellent day. My brother has since said he wished he would have done it differently....invited more people and had a bigger celebration. I am so please to go and look back at the pictures. Get a good photographer. Don't stress over the little things. Let it go. Even if the decorations are not magazine perfect you will have fun- it will be YOUR day!

you really don't need a ton of bridesmaids, having just a maid of honor and a best man will suffice. You need flowers, real or artificial ones. A cake, a wedding dress in the style and color you like, a location to have the ceremony and reception, a pastor or justice of the peace, and your friends and family around to experience your special day with you. Oh yah, don't forget the rings!

You need a date that is marriage-worthy for starters. Sorry, I'm taken. Then you need some friends that don't mind blowing a few hundred bucks on your big day. For decorations, just get plastic dinnerware and a pinata.

What you need is a bride, a groom, a marriage licence, someone legally able to perform a marriage, and 2 witnesses. That's what you NEED. EVERYTHING else, and I mean EVERYTHING else, is just fluff.
