You now that it will not be either of them to answer, do you think that person really makes a note of what you say. or just listens and when you hang up what you said is just lost. It is my experience that they could care less. I am hoping I am wrong.

Those who work in the offices of Senators and Congressmen have a real dose of fun when legislation is up for a vote, especially if it is controversial. The phone rings constantly. Try to remember that they are hearing the same things over and over again, all day long. They may seem impatient or testy if you try to give them long explanations, but that is because there are more lights blinking on the phone, demanding attention. These representatives do care what you think and employees are instructed to make careful tallies of the opinions expressed. Your representatives are sensitive to your opinion and your vote. If you don't call. If you don't express yourself, your thoughts and desires are lost.

You are very wrong. The person on the other end of the line may not be very conversant with you, but they are instructed to take note of your position. They will put your answer, at least, on a tally sheet of "in favor of" "opposed to", etc.

Congressmen and Senators must consider the opinions or views of their constituents in order to be effective representatives of their states.
