"To pack" has a number of translations, depending upon what you are putting the items in. From your other sentences, I think you mean "to pack" a suitcase, in which case the Spanish is "hacer la maleta" or "hacer la valija".
"Are you taking your shorts and sandals?" = "¿Llevas tus pantalones cortos (shorts) y tus sandalias?"
***In Mexico, "shorts" is an English word commonly used in Spanish, but your Spanish teacher probably doesn´t want that. You can substitute the words "ojotas" or "guaraches" for "sandalias," if you prefer.
"Yes, I am taking them." = "SÃ, los llevo."

hacer la maleta = to pack as in packing a suitcase

To pack (for a trip) is "hacer las maletas" (for transport) "embalar" or "empaquetar".
