It sound like she is just a good old dog. Her circling could be from a stroke, but probably just old age. The potty problem is probably from becoming incontinent. Stepping in it is probably from waning eye sight, maybe even cataracts. If she isn't in any pain, I'd say make her comfortable and try not to get frustrated with the issues that come with getting older (we are all going to be there some day). And give her a big hug everyday, you'll cherish that when she is gone.

You said it yourself honey. Shes 16. The circling part is just nesting. Just about all dogs do it. But if its the loss of bladder control then go get some doggie diapers from PetSmart. They have reusable ones and disposable ones. Good luck.

That is what my dog does. Animals just do that. I don't know why though. Or maybe she is in a old age. When a dog reaches the age of 10 it usually starts to get sick and you are going to have to put it to sleep....that's what happened to my friend.

She is getting old. this is normal as they try to get comfortable but I would have her checked by a vet for why she isn't eating well.
She may be loosing control or it could be a more serious condition.
My brothers airdale did that and it just got worse do to week kidney and bladder she wasn't happy anymore so we did teh humane thing and had her put to sleep

Dogs do that to "fluff" thier nest/bed. Its natural. She may have artheritis, that can hurt jumping onot or off of beds, couches etc so she chooses to sleep on the floor.

I think your poor doggie is getting old. 16 is pretty old for a dog and you might want to take her to the vet.
Good Luck!
