The laughter is echoing down yahoo hallways. The people you meet here, appreciate science, but they are not scientists. Some are very good technicians, and have memorized a few clever arguments.

But, if you are patient, you will find a few that actually have the credentials, the skills, and the desire to back up there statements with their own research. Ignore wik-o-philes. They're dumber than fundies on saturday morning.

And evolution aint the problem, it's natural selection that projects diety onto nature. The Romans knew all about survival of the fittest. Charity beat them in the end....

There are two debates going one. In the science section, it is evolution vs nothing. Evolution is accepted. in religion, it is evolution vs mythology. The subject of evolution is brought to the religion section so there can be two sides to the argument. Otherwise, the topic is so 1994.

--Good point, but many of them do not care, except to argue, conjole, ridicule, etc.

--ALSO this is a good place for them to vent HATRED AND CONTEMPT on God , Christ and the Bible!
--IT MIGHT be a power trip, that gives them some perverted high, its hard to tell because we cannot read anybodies heart , but indeed God can!

--INTERESTING POINT BY "CHANCE"--because when I answer on the science page usually there are very good refutes made AGAINST evolution by scientists and knowledgeable ones in the sciences.

--THERE IS no genuine interchange with a false science(evolution) and biology, anatomy, earth science, astronomy. As evolutionists use outdated falisy and most who know their science recognize that!

as a results of fact creationists do no longer prefer scientific solutions (which they could't comprehend to start with). they only prefer different creationists to confirm and validate their very own preconceived misunderstandings so as that they do no longer sense so stupid each and every of the time. MK6 is a stable occasion - he believes he can disprove evolution via his fantastic carry close of inhabitants genetics yet he has no theory what evolution is and what that's no longer, and if he somewhat understood genetics, he'd comprehend that this self-discipline has shown evolutionary concept many circumstances over. Ever heard of a homeobox?

Since I can't see the answers other have written, I'll just wing it.
For most people who choose to discuss evolution, the question IS primarily one of religion and not true science. The usual author objects to evolution, usually on biblical terms, ('the bible says god created man in his own image and thats enough for me'). If one looks over thier arguments its usually about the bible versus science, not the science behind evolutionary theory.

Many people don't realize that evolution is a religion to some people. Ever heard of Scientologists? what about Rampsters? Buddhists? Catholics? Hindus? there are lots of people that believe in things that may seem crazy to you. Keep an open mind. People have different beliefs. Also, some people are just stupid and don't know what they are talking about. It could be either.

They are trying to challenge the religious.

It's the same as when religious people post questions challenging evolution in the religion section.

I guess you could say they're not smart enough to post in the right section too.

Posting a science question in the religion and spirituality section often means the asker does not really want an answer. His goal is to ask a question that he believes proves some scientific knowledge to be wrong, or that science does not yet answer, and make the implicit claim that the only other explanation is a god, and specifically, the same god he happens to believe in.

It's the "god of the gaps" - intellectually bankrupt, since it favors ignorance instead of knowledge, and because of the contained logical fallacy.

Because of the whole Adam and Eve thing.

It can be asked in either category depending on the context of the question.

Your question is about evolution, put it in the science section fool.

Because the simple idea of evolution is like the pebble to the religious pond.It threatens them so much they have to try and disprove it,and every attempt they make is futile.

They want to believe we were created. They don't want to believe we gradually evolved. They Can look up at a cliff and wonder how anyone can get up there, but they can't see the path that slowly climbs up to the top of this cliff.
