Because it's just so unbelievable sometimes.
Who the heck wrote the bible anyways, why are there so many bibles, why are some of the stories told a different way?
What visible proof is there that God or Jesus ever existed?

Some parts of the Bible are about 3000 years older than the KJV.

Saying the KJV is the only Bible is like saying Shakespeare reads best in the original Klingon.

Hon, the King James verson of the bible was organized in 1611. Before that, and for 1000 years before that, there were all sorts of things added to left out rearranged, copied, made "better" and so on. You, sweetie, need to take a college course in comparative religions.... you have been brainwashed.

People, I assume you mean the rest of the world other than christians.

I am an atheist. I don't believe in the Bible because it is a book full of horror stories. It should only be given to adults for its R rating.

I don't believe in your god either.

I mean... it all just seems like a bunch of mad up stories, and after all the Christians Jesus is never reported as actually writing something... for all we know it could be the work of schizo people who thought they were hearing god, but really it was the voices in their head.

You disbelieve thousands of gods - the only one you happen to believe is real is the one your parents told you was real. Coincidence?

Nobody can prove any gods, much less a specific god, exist; many people will tell you their god exists but no others, but will never be able to prove it, even if they think so. Some will threaten you with eternal pain or promise eternal joy to get you to believe in their god; these are all stories, created for people who were scared long before we understood the universe. Now we have no more reason for these superstitions.

I don't believe in it because it's illogical, was compiled by a bunch of people to support their particular views on things and it doesn't make much logical sense to me. Well I already said that, but you get the idea.

Because people do not want to know they may be doing wrong. It's easier to be bad than good.
