well i thought about having my toenails removed that way Penlac or a topical cream such as Lamisil. This way the cream will actually touch the skin and not just the top of the nail. I heard about the Vicks Vapor Rub, but I heard it wasn't affected. May try, thanks everyone for your advice!!

there really arent any effective home remedies. If your doctor prescibed you Lamisil its because you need it. The benefits definately outweigh the risks. If you prefer to try something topically (but still prescription) talk to your MD about Penlac
There are also other oral antibiotics that have been shown to be effective in treating toenail fungus. They are itraconazole (Sporonox), fluconazole (Diflucan), and griseofulvin (Fulvicin)

Beware, if the fungus isnt taken care of it can spread, and you could end up losing your toe nails. (they don't grow back!)

Hope this helps

I have heard that it's a sign of a system wide yeast infection. I'd try the easier and "instant" cures, but if you don't get any luck, you could eliminate sugar and starches and try to clear the yeast out of your system. Doing so has improved my toenails (which had a very mild fungus problem... everyone in my family seems to get it, but now not me), athletes foot, and my overall mood and energy level.

Use vicks vapor rub I read up on this problem in the doctors book of home remedies and people voted on the best cure and overall it was vicks vapor rub applied to the infected nail twice daily and in no time you will see results.

If I had toenail fungus I'd soak my feet in a pan of bleach. That ought to kill anything.
