A few days ago my face suffered a pretty bad burn from a flash fire. I lost a lot of my bangs, hair around side of my face most of my eyebrows and really shortened my eyelashes. My face took a direct blast of fire. I by the grace of God, sustained superficial burns. They hurt very bad but it could have been much worse! Anyway, my left eye has about 6 black lines around it. (About an inch from eye) It looks like my mascara or eyelashes were burned into my skin or if maybe some makeup just got rubbed in there. I have washed it with genle soap, and used a q-tip to gently wipe the marks with sensitive skin makeup remover and nothing works! My left eye looks liked a striped tiger! Has anyone ever heard of makeup being burnt into skin and if so what can I do to fix it?? I have been using aloe vera on my face and silvadine cream to my hand (hand got burnt worse), but the Drs said the silvadine cream could bleach my face. Please help if you can!! Thank you.

I would doubt it is permanent, but will take awhile to go away. The chemicals and dyes in the mascara may have 'burnt' into your skin or stained it for the time being anyway. Try to leave it alone, the skin around your eyes is the thinnest on your body and you dont want to mess with it.
What did the doctor say? I would leave it be for now.

Good thing you are okay. I can imagine how badly you want the marks gone, but you are very lucky in the long run.

Good luck!

Test spot first According to the book 'How to Clean Practically Anything'. They say: Makeup(mascara, powdered shadow, or blush) Blot with alcohol. If stains remains, try the detergent solution and then the ammonia solution. Rinse with warm water. Question what kind of matieral is it? You should look at the Label before you do any thing more to it first! If it tells you W= Use a water-based cleaner. Spot clean only with the foam of a commercial upholstery shampoo or foam of a mild detergent.(Add some to water. shake it up,and use foam only.) Use very little foam. Too much moisture may create a mildew problem. S= Use a solvent cleaner. Use a commercial dry-cleaning solvent for spot cleaning. Use very little and observe the cautions on the label about the flammability of the product. Solvent cleaners will NOT remove water stains and must be water-free; otherwise they will cause spotting or shrinking. Do not use with latex foam rubber. S-W- Use either a water-based or solvent cleaner. X+ Vacuum only. A cleaning agent may cause excessive shrinking, fading or spotting.

you should talk to the Dr about it because it has only been a few days it may fade. Go see your Dr or a dermatologist and show them what you are concerned with. Wait a few weeks for your burns to heal then worry about the lines if they don't fade they may be able to do derm-abrasion or use a cover up to lessen them.

Your best bet is to consult the Dr. or dermatologist.

It is very possible that it will go away as part of the healing process, but that can take a while.

DO NOT PUT ANYTHING ON YOUR BURNS UNLESS SPECIFICALLY INSTRUCTED BY THE DOCTOR!
You don't want to make it worse!
