I don't want to starve, but I need to cut back. Any good suggestions where I can get some ideas for quick and easy meals that are really good?

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

When counting calories on meals, make sure you are over 1000 calories a day. If you are under 1000 you body will go in starvation mode to protect you. Drink lots of fluids, like water and fruit juices, no sodas. What helped me was to cook lots of vegetables and low fat meats such as chicken or turkey. Try to avoid any fast food or other take outs. Have at least two snacks a day, like fruit or nuts. Good luck and remember that every pound lost is an accomplishment.

Keep track of everything you eat with an online counter (try fitday.com or calorie-count.com) so you're more aware of where you're over eating. It seems silly, but it makes you make better choices. For example, one bite of birthday cake isn't so bad, but a whole piece means you probably shouldn't eat the rest of the day (and that's not healthy!) It just makes you think more if you see it in front of you.

i always buy lean cuisines. it feels good that i can eat things like pizza and panini's and still be on track.

also, i buy alot of frozen fruit. i snack on a bag on frozen fruit (preferably no sugar added) throughout the day and it really stops cravings for sweets.
