I think any of those would be great to learn. It's up to you:) Personally I think that doing competitive swimming would be a good choice because it's something you can do at whatever age, any skill level, is AMAZING at getting you in shape and losing weight, and have fun as long as your really sticking to it and are determined.

One way of exercising and having fun is dancing. Maybe you could join a dance class. Another possible way is through martial arts, like Karate, or Judo. Pick something you like doing, and you will keep up with it. As far as eating, when you get the munchies, try munching on fresh fruit and veggies. It takes a habit, not a diet. All Jenny Craig will do is take your money. Good luck. Stay positive.

Any exercises will make a difference. Some people enjoy running while listening to I-Pods and other music players. Others would rather lift weights. Another way you could get exercises is by doing sit-ups, push-ups, and other easy exercises while commercials are on TV.

Running and skateboarding will make a difference. The good part is, if these are things you enjoy doing then you will continue doing them for fun and not just weight loss. Just stay active, doing fun things.

Swimming is a great cardio exercise. Every time you go to the pool, swim as many laps as you can before you relax. Tennis, volleyball, and softball are fun summer sports that you can play with friends. Eat lots of delicious summer fruits like strawberries, watermelons, and whatever else you like, and stay away from junk foods.

Try outside activities like running, biking, walks in the park, walks in the mall, swimming, try sports like beach volleyball or you could even go with DDR (dance dance revolution). They're all good ways to lose weight.

Hello Didi (cute name), I think that going outside, running around and skateboarding will help. However depending on how much weight you want to loose you may need to do some more. First of all visit you doctor/and or dietician to determine if you need to loose weight and if so, how much weight you need to loose. PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO LOOSE WEIGHT IF YOU DO NOT NEED TO LOOSE WEIGHT. People can end up in the hospital if they loose too much weight. More physical activities will help you loose weight. You can try playing a sport that you like. You will loose more weight and have fun so you might not stop. You can encourage your mom to play a sport with you as well. The both of you can combine different activities so that you all will not get bored. Maybe the both of you can play sports one day and then go to the gym the next day. Maybe you can plan a different activity for every day (but don't overdo it). Maybe you can space out any rigourous activities like the gym or sports every other day. Hiking might be nice for you also. Start off small and then increase. Don't try to do too much different activities or too much of any activity as you might get overwelmed or see it as a chor, and might get discouraged.
Try not to be lazy. Every bit of pysical activity will contribute to raising you metabolism which will help you burn calories faster. e.g walking up the stairs instead of taking the elevator to go up one or two levels or taking a fifteen minute walk to the shop instead of a five minute drive. Every little activity helps because it adds to the rest of your activities like sports or the gym.
Eating properly in another way to help loose wieght. I have found that not overeating has helped me loose size around my stomarch. Instead of eating three big meals a day, split the same amount of food into five meals. This way you eat the same amount for the day but you do not overeat. Just make sure that you are getting the correct amount of vitamins and other nutrients that your body needs every day.
Drink enough water. This takes at least few weeks to notice, but it will help you to loose weight, improve your skin and complexion and remove impurities from your body among other things. Notice I said drink enough, not too much. To get an idea of how much eight ounce glasses you should drink a day. Divide your weight in pounds(not kg) by 16...this should be how much glasses of water you should drink a day on average. But it also depends on your level of activity and the climate you live in.
I want to go and do some stuff now, but I will leave you with a thought...if you go to the extreme (e.g. like going on a srtict diet) and try to loose too much weight to fast you might do it, but then you might get bored and start cheating and you might even put back on some off the weight you lost. If you change your lifesyle (your activities) very little and you loose just one pound a week it might not seem like much (about 8 pounds) over the summer, but in 3 to 4 months you can loose up to 12 to 16 pounds, and in 1 year you can loose up to 52 pounds. Also because you would not go on a strict diet, but only change things a little (which add up in the long run), you would porbably not get sick of what you are doing and so you would continue.
Go Didi and her mom! You both can do it!

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
Get started today!
