Doing the math, that's 1 million people who have entered this country illegally having a criminal record. What kinds of crimes have they committed? Who knows, we'll never know.
And thanks to this new bill, that's 1 million more people added to a growing list of criminals in this country.

Siervocal, I don't know which bill you are talking about, but the immigration bill proposed automatically gives a "probationary" visa to all of the people (which is actually indefinite, meaning that's all they need). The ones who then want to become citizens are the ones who have to go through the background checks.

Bush should look in the prisons. Part of the over-crowding is because they are filled with illegal alien gang members. Most of the gangs are from Mexico.

They have mentioned that of the 6 illegals that tried to shoot up Fort Dix, 3 of them would be eligible for amnesty under this piece of crap bill. Is that the type of person we want in our country?

Even if his stats are correct, which is impossible, all 20+ million illegals are all criminals. They are breaking our laws.

I wish the morons in Washington would stop saying that there are ONLY 12 million illegals. That was the figure in 2005. Do they really think that there were no additional illegal that came across the border in 1.5 years? Do they really think we are that stupid?

The only thing that I can forsee to correct this problem is to create a new body which along with the INS or the USCIS can go and raid the premisesof companies and see if there are illegal aliens working. If found they should be sent back and the company employing them should be fined a large sum of $$$ may be to the tune of 10,000$ for each catch. Also the people who work for this new force should be educated people and paid well and not the standard $5-$8 per hour.

Once this is implemented the treasury will have a lot of money and the USA will have less illegal people.

This certainly will reduce the number of illegal immigrants.

A agree with the answer above. All 12 are criminals...the difference is that 11 are unconvicted felons.
People don't realize that a background check won't be done on any illegals until they apply for the "green" card.

If unlawful immigration is a criminal offense then i think we are ALL in charge. I guess the close by American Indians want that they had an identical criminal rights to kick all and sundry white immigrants off of their land while they arrived ILLEGALLY over 3 hundred years in the past. purely be happy the Hispanics are not coming over our border with an accrued military of over 10,000 combating men waiting to rape and pillage each and every city they arrive for the duration of as a fashion to declare the hot international for themselves. unlawful immigration is a farce. all and sundry, no count if unlawful or no longer deserve the american way of life that we electorate have been blessed with. have you ever considered the purple tape and paperwork it takes to pass by just to be conscious for US citizenship? in case you think of the IRS is undesirable, wait till you spot the INS. i'm curious on the subject of the amnesty invoice. in case you do no longer like it, pass lower back to the rustic that your ancestors got here from.

Did you know that those criminals you are talking about are not eligible for the legalization program? I would do some serious research on the topic before opening my big mouth if I was you.

When they crossed the border or stayed here past their visa, they became automatic federal criminals.
