The is wrong. It does matter. The pages won't work if they are not rightfully named.

Joseph is correct.

You can name them anything you want, however you need to create the correct hyperlinks so navigation is correct.

Example: Lets say you want to create a page with your photos.

In your index.htm page you will have either an icon or text that says "My photos" or something similar.
Now you link that text/icon to your photos page using a hyperlink.
So, if you name the photos page "myphotos.html" your link will be http://yourwebsite/myphotos.html

but if you name it "page2.html" the link should be
http://yourwebsite/page2.html

They can be anything. All the names really do is help you keep it organised and more easily find what you need when you're going to edit.
