Or is there a certain mix from the store you like? The ones I've tried all come out flat & yucky...

Garlic Pizza Crust:

1½ hours 1½ hours prep
2 cookie sheet size crusts

2 (8 g) packages yeast (I use 4 1/2 tsp of bulk yeast)
2 cups water (tepid, 90*)
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 cup oil
1 teaspoon salt
5 1/2-6 cups flour
3 garlic cloves, crushed

1. Dissolve yeast in water and add sugar.
2. wait a few minutes.
3. add oil and salt and garlic .
4. mix in 3 cups flour and whip about 10 min till it leaves the side of the mixer bowl.
5. add remaining flour w/ dough hook or by hand.
6. knead till smooth.
7. allow to rise twice in the bowl.
8. punch down.
9. (I rush this a bit) oil baking sheets .use fingers press out to edges.
10. Makes 2 pizzas, cookie sheet size, let rise a bit and top.
11. bake at 425* 20min.this is fantastic.
12. crust smells slightly like garlic bread.
13. but is notstrong.
14. We usually make one cheese and the other with ground.
15. beef, ham, onion and mushroom.
16. Even the kids say it is the best crust so far.
17. This makes 2 cookie sheet sized or 12 after school snack size I form them in thebottom of a cheapo pie pan, top and bake completely and put them in zip bags.

the only crust recipe I have does the same thing - gets hard after a while, but I can help you with the sauce! I made this at home one night when my boyfriend and I couldn't find pizza sauce at the grocery store, and he really liked it! 1 can tomato sauce 1 can tomato paste olive oil garlic salt sugar Mrs. Dash tomato basil and garlic so, I can't tell you exactly how much of everything I put in - you'll just have to do that on your own - to your own liking. But I can tell you that the olive oil is to thin it out a little. The sugar is really necessary to take out that metallic type taste, and the rest of the spices are to give it that pizza flavor. Here is a Quick and Easy Pizza Crust recipe.
Best baked on a stone, but cookie or pizza pan will work just fine. The good thing here is ---- no waiting for the dough to rise! Enjoy!

INGREDIENTS
1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
1 teaspoon white sugar
1 cup warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
2 1/2 cups bread flour
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). In a medium bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let stand until creamy, about 10 minutes.
Stir in flour, salt and oil. Beat until smooth. Let rest for 5 minutes.
Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and pat or roll into a round. Transfer crust to a lightly greased pizza pan or baker's peel dusted with cornmeal. Spread with desired toppings and bake in preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown. Let baked pizza cool for 5 minutes before

Boboli crust and sauce is great!

or make your own....

1 tablespoon yeast
1 pinch sugar
1 cup hot water (105 degrees)
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
3 1/2 cups flour
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Sprinkle yeast in hot water, add a pinch of sugar.
Let stand for 5 minutes. Mix in vegetable oil, flour, sugar and salt. Stir to make stiff dough. Knead 8 minutes. Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, turn, let rise to double in a warm place (I like to do this in the oven turned to the very lowest setting.) Punch down. Divide. Each will line a pizza pan. Brush with 1-tablespoon oil Cover. Let rest 5 minutes. Heat oven to 425 degrees. Bake 15 minutes, remove from the oven and add your sauce,cheese and meats and then bake another 15 minutes.

This is the quickest I've come across:
2 1/2 - 3 c flour
1 1/2 tsp sugar
2 t salt
1/2 t oregano
1 pkg quick dry yeast
1 c very hot tap water
Mix all dry ingredients, toss in the hot tap water, mix and knead, cover and let rise. Roll or press out to desired thickness and top with whatever you like. Bake 375 for 35-40 minutes.
(I make deep dish pizza in cast iron skillets: they brown beautifully!)

If you roll out your dough, then sprinkle with parm cheese and basil and then add your sauce. There are literally hundreds of different ways depending on what spices you like.
