well, bourbon and whiskey have different tastes, so while you could use the whiskey as a marinade, it probably wouldn't come out exactly as it was supposed to

Yes. We use whiskey in marinade quite often. Jack Daniels would be fine, but it's more expensive than others.

When we were last at Costco looking for bourbon or whiskey for marinade, we priced everything they had. The best bargain was a large bottle of Black Velvet, which was surprising, but it was the least expensive.

I would say yes but the jack is better for drinking I would use a cheaper whiskey or bourbon.

You can but it won't taste correct. Jack Daniels is a sour mash whiskey and not the same as Bourbon

I prefer Jack Daniels to whiskey, I was introduced to Rye & Ginger by a Canadian friend a few years back. Its for special occasions, I'm more of a wine or vodka drinker (given the finances)

yes, it is basically the same thing. bourbon is just made in Bourbon, Kentucky.
