A man made into a myth.

There is little enough evidence for the historical Jesus. Accounts are all after Jesus' death, and many simply verify the existence of Christianity (as through Pliny) while others point to a crucifixion (Tacitus) but nothing more.

Jesus the man may have been one of many Jewish preachers leading a splinter sect of Jews who ended up on the wrong side of the Romans, and as a result, on a cross like so many others.

Jesus the myth has much in common with other "virgin birth" myths, such as that of Krishna, Buddha, and Amen-Ra. Little about Jesus was a new idea. The incarnation of a god on earth, the virgin birth, the "good shepherd", the miracles... most everything is an emulation of other mythical figures. Much of it may have been tacked on by way of the oral tradition, and some of it may have been purposefully added to draw converts from other religions.

In the end, there is some good in the words attributed to Jesus (there's also some bad, as when he calls for the heads of those who do not accept him, and when he delineates a hell of eternal torture as part of the doctrine of a "good" god), but overall the Bible is dangerous and divisive if not looked to as the fiction it is.

i think jesus was enlightened
he realized that he was not just a separate ego
but the ground of the universe
so did the buddha
thats why he said i and the father are one
and why he said this bread is my body
thats why he said the kingdom of heaven is within
instead of looking within christians worship jesus

A man who died on the cross over 2000 years ago for all mistakes past, present, and future that are made and He offers forgiveness through his love, grace and mercy to anyone who calls on his name, believes him in their heart and acknowledges Him as their personal Lord and Savior. I will never fully understand how much He loved me...His love was greater than can be described in words. So technically, can that question ever truely be answered? :)

I have said many times before that The Christian Bible was writen in parable for reasons regarding Rome; may lessons were taught and Jesus was a teacher; a master.

The lesson of life in the bible was about morals and Jesus taught them very well.

Jesus said he was "the light"; in truth, in reality ,we all seek that "light" as it represents Truth in the self; ie "who am I am what am I about"; The lesson was to act right and seek the truth about you and your relations with All that Is.

As corporeal beings we are not in a normal state; we are consciousness first and we elect to inhabit this body as a matter of choice in humility and many other lessons; Jesus screamed for those in the body to wake up, see who you are?
You are part of God as I am...and this lesson too was lost to Biblical inpterpreations.

"I am the way, the light, you must go through me only" was about learning about yourself as you, he and "God" (a massive concept of truth) are one and the same.

The purpose being to elevate man spiritualy; Jesus said many things and a few stick out as messages MEANT TO AWAKEN the dead in spirit..."turn the other cheek" was all about everyone being connected in Spirit; yet, you are you and I am I and we each have our percieved and Valid identities ; yet, like a ripple in a pond, what actions you take effect US ALL; to turn the other cheek meant "do not slap back" as that slap effects each as in a ripple caused by a small rock will eventually impact the other side of the lake.

Taken out of context the bible reads like a childs book, able slew cain and Jesus said " go ye...yada yada; Nothing makes any sense, unless your open in your interpretations and Not Conditioned, or told to "see it this way" by a church.

Jesus tried to teach reality in a time when it was hardest to get anyone to lend an ear. Yet, he did teach truth in sense if you see him as "truth" and read beyond text and feel what is being said as opposed to "reading what is being said".

It matters not what I (or anyone else for that matter) say who Jesus is. What matters is who Jesus said he was. The Bible answers that question clearly on multiple occasions.
