Why not roast them over the stove? anyway I guess it is safe as long as the wax don't get on them.

With an unscented candle I would say it is probably bad but on such a small scale that the health improvements due to improved mental health should cancel out any problems. Don't do it everyday, but I would say to keep going if you like to do it.
That said, a scented candle has a lot more different chemicals in it, and will probably be more of an issue. Not to mention the funny tasting marshmallows you'll end up with.

Take a metal spoon and hold it over the flame of the candle for a bit. About the same distance you would hold the marshmellow. After a bit of time you will notice that there is this dark stuff accumulating on the spoon. The candle wax does not burn 100%. Some is partially burned and is carried by the gases from the flame. This is what will be in your marshmellows.

How dangerous is it? I have no idea. I have never heard of anyone getting sick from this stuff before. You just may not want to put it in your mouth. We used to roast marshmellows like this in our dorm rooms. We never got sick from it.

No, it is not bad for you to eat marshmallows roasted over a candle, because it is the same as roasting them over a fire.

It's not bad, but marshmellows aren't the healthiest foods. They are loaded with sugar. There are brands that have a lot less sugar and calories though. Try to limit yourself to no more than 5.

candles put out a lot of black smoke. I don't know if it's bad for you, but I doubt it is good for you.
A few here and there probably won't make a difference.

Only if you eat a bag of 'em, and that's bad for other reasons. Toast on!
