People are beginning to realize that there is no hell.

Yahoo exists but it isn't quite perfect.

i agree with UTUK i think they have realised that the way to go is honesty and gone back to the texts ,Hell fire and brimstone were a Catholic means of control over the population .Too many people don`t understand that when the bible was translated from the texts the Bible was made to fit in with the religion and not the religion to fit in with the Bible
they even went to all kinds of lengths to stop it being translated from the Latin because they thought allowing the masses access to the Bible would be detremental to the Church

Because people are not afraid any more and they do not have control of peoples intellect, lives, morality

Who believes in hellfire and dammation anyway. When we die, I do believe the soul survives, but any judgement would be self-judgement with the benefit of the knowledge of how all of our actions have affected other people. That ought to be hell enough for some people!

Probably because they got access to the Greek texts and the commentaries by the early Church Fathers.

Because people don't want to hear that anymore. They want a kinder, gentler church. Me, I'd rather know about the hellfire and damnation now thanks very much. LOL

Yahoo is run by the church of England.!!
They have become lukewarm and complacant and no longer represent Christ.. It happens to all denominations..

Because we already live in it? Why would anyone allow themselves to be preached to, about something they experience everyday!

The world has moved on, unfortunately.

Perhaps the Church leaders re-read the Bible and realised it doesn't talk about Hell and Damnation at all!

Perhaps they have undertaken a more objective study of The Bible.

I believe the most direct answer to your question, is that they do not fear God like they did before. When you have a healthy fear of God you are careful to be a good ambassador of God and to bring His message, and not your own.
